Been a While ,,, another good double header ....

Posted

getting reports that this thread is crashing browsers

can you please

1. do not quote clips - as by doing such you are just increasing the effort needed by browsers to render thge page

2. post just one clip per post

3. if posting a clip try and post the words to go with it in a following post - there are 50 posts per page - so if do this it will again lessen the load and also help avoid people quoting the clip

thanks

mike

just a recap

idea is to try and reduce the number of vids on each page

there's 50 posts a page, so if carry on with the posting text after the vid it means only be 25 vids per page

which should help avoid the loading probs some have been having

:hatsoff2: Hi All Thanks for this update on advice already given, If you notice on my postings, I try to give the record info, rough value, and the reason of why I picked the 45, as normally I play at least 10 records daily, in that selection, I try to justify why I would like to post as my pick of the day, which can be 1 of a myriad reasons?

Personally anyone can use the YOU LIKE box or as you say, give a written reply. if the PRBLEM persists I will start the thread again on the 21st June which was the planned date or I can bring it forward, just PM if that would be the preferred answer to resole this, problem,

For all of you who make this a popular thread, please continue with your selections of great 45s that in my opinion makes this thread a #1 winner as every 10 records that go on the site the selection is so eclectic compared to other soul lists, It would make a great series of VA Cd's to promote the site & SOULSOURCE  As Always DAVE

This is mine for today, a record that reminds me of our local youth club, my mid teens, all nighters, and been able to dance to stuff this fast, those were the days.....

Perfect for the fast, funky style of northern nights that are cropping up a bit more now too

Mickey Murray-East Of Nowhere SSS Int. LP

Just to prove samplings been going on forever, there's "In Crowd" in there somewhere.

Just found out that a few have been pressed up on 45 in Germany but up to finding that out I thought it was LP only.

A tune I think will have it's day as imo it's got everything?

Cheers

Another LP track from me today,a nice mellow tune to ease you into the day. This is a track I always thought was LP only but seeing the You Tube footage I see it's come out on 45,one I'll be looking out for.

RE: everyones younger then our Mike...........do I know you?

Well I stayed at your (parents) house a couple of times back in the 60's (though not actually from Hull) and was an ever-present on the Hull soul scene from 1966 through to the early 70's (by which time the scene as I knew it had disappeared)!!

Visited Mike in France twice in the last 2 years .... he can be difficult to get on with at times !!
