One for the 70's Philly fans .........

Major Harris "Ruby Lee" .........

I believe this is LP only ..........

.... EXCEPT in BRAZIL ........

where it was released on a 4 track (33rpm) EP.

... HOW DO I KNOW ....... COZ I got a copy of the EP of course !!!!

Mind you, if anyone knows of any other places where it escaped on 7", I'd be pleased to know about it.

A remix of the track appears on the CD 'Philly Re-Grooved - The Tom Moulton Philly Groove Remixes'.

Another nice Major Harris dancer ...

... "Walkin' In The Footsteps" ..

BTW, this cut is also on that Brazilian 7" EP ...

..... so that was a real good buy then !!!!

Oh my head hurts.......note to self when the wife on the very rare occasion offers to drive don't take to much advantage

Fortunately didn't over indulge to much as not to remember that John Weston & Dave Rimmer who were guests dj's at York Soul Club both played cracking sets........some very nice tunes indeed.

So here's a bit of motown from me today...........

Sorry for my absence over past 3 weeks: Real World soul project took priority. This morning's offering: I collect Mary Wells records and still haven't located a nice clean demo of this 20th Century outing. Posted this just as much for the video as the song though. Great footage and a clip that shows just how important her Motown roots were to her success as they tried to recreate not only the sound but the 'ambience' as well.

Regards,

Dave

Andy, WTF was it! At the fear of repeating myself, PLEASE put the artist & Title in your post, as a few of us can't actually see the videos while at work, and have to wait til we get home to post, just to make sure we're not posting a duplicate for the day.
