Google Search By Image - How Useful ?

not the bog standard search for image

but on about the "Search by image" eg find similar images to a exisiting image

used it a couple of times but not great results, anyone use it to any effect for scans, artists etc ?

Massively helpful for picture research Mike. If I'm looking for a suitable image, label scan or just inspiration it's the first place I go. Also makes it easier to find out the rights owner too.....

(apologies if have read it wrong)

i was wondering more about the actual search via an image

as in say you had a scan online you put the url in and then use the "search by image" which does show some close scans but not really great results

Make sure you turn on the adult filter before using the search. Almost any time I've dragged a picture of someone's face there, I get a lot of examples of one type of pornographic image (can go into detail if someone cares but probably not appropriate).
