Ady Croasdell Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 So which was the female vocal of alternate words to Open The Door To Your Heart? That got people talking, great sound. And the rest were spot on too. Ady
Prophonics 2029 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Vikki Styles - The tears won't stop crying - Odex
Prophonics 2029 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Prince Conley - Sick - Acetate Still don't think this is him singing, your copy has a deep voice like Bud Harper???
Boogaloo Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 Sick list is by Prince Charles Al H Oh, yeah. Thought there was something funny about it when I typed it. Thanks Al
Corbett80 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Theres also a great just as rare Open The Door backing on a Major Burkes 45 on Gulf thats worth checking out. The Vikki Styles is a great 45 too. Thanks for the lift home as well!
Russ Vickers Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) Vicki Styles is great, been played for years now, but still under the radar.....theres a great male group vocal with the same backing track, still covered up though so dont want to say too much...... Glad that it was another great night, wish I could have been there........... Best Russ Edited April 23, 2012 by Russ Vickers 1
Ady Croasdell Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Did you speed up the Vicki Styles at all Warren, it sounds better over a system. This is a low quality link though.
Md Records Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 (edited) I've got an old "Soul Source" magazine from the late 1970's where Vikki Styles was tipped to go big. Anyone seen the Major Burkes picture sleeve - now that IS rare!!!! Playlist up to your usual impeccably high standard, Warren Des Edited April 25, 2012 by SOUL.INC
Shsdave Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 (edited) So which was the female vocal of alternate words to Open The Door To Your Heart? That got people talking, great sound. And the rest were spot on too. Ady Well known in the 80s, didn't Ian Clark play it ? (Stafford Sound? Manship had it on a tape full of Stafford stuff anyway) & of course Jumping Joan was giving it a work out a few years back & pretty sure she played it at 100 club when she guested there .............. good sound Edited April 25, 2012 by SHSDave
Boogaloo Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 Did you speed up the Vicki Styles at all Warren, it sounds better over a system. This is a low quality link though. I never speed up anything Ady. You should ask the missus. Yep, first heard Jumpin' play it many years ago at Cleethorpes but more recently at Solid Hit Soul. Great sound innit.
Benji Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Vicki Styles is great, been played for years now, but still under the radar Seeing the price tag that Ms. Vicki comes with it's hardly under the radar isn't it? More the case too rare to get wider exposure I think. Great sound nevertheless.
Ady Croasdell Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I've just not been paying attention as usual.
Phil Shields Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Great tune, I've played it out occasionally for a long time now. Must pop it back in the old playbox

Yep, first heard Jumpin' play it many years ago at Cleethorpes but more recently at Solid Hit Soul. Great sound innit. Thanks for the blatant plug Warren but if you heard Joan playing it at Solid Hit it must have been on her mp3 as she's never done a guest spot with us .............................or am I reading your post wrong Do you mean "It's a great sound isn't it " Yes it is
Boogaloo Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 Badly written, on reflection. I'm sure it was Rob Smith who played it last year, wunnit?
