boba Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 (edited) I apologize for the delay in getting these two shows online, but now I have two new things up. The first is an interview with brother and sister Archie Brooks and Sharona Brooks. Both were members of Cabrini Green groups. Archie was the original lead singer of the Fugitives until he left to join Master Plan Inc. Sharona Brooks and her two older sisters recorded a single record as Bettye Scott and the Del-Vettes. The record had a classic Chicago sound and was even released on two different labels; however, the group never made any more secular recordings. You can listen to the interview at the bottom of my interviews page at: https://www.sittinginthepark.com/interviews.html'>https://www.sittinginthepark.com/interviews.html Last Sunday I did an all-music show. It was a pretty cool show and I played some genres that I don't usually play (e.g. funkier records at the start). You can download the show directly from: https://www.sittinginthepark.com/4-8-2012.mp3?'>https://www.sittinginthepark.com/4-8-2012.mp3? You can find more music shows on my webpage at https://www.sittinginthepark.com . Also, sad news, but Michael Sharkey of the Fugitives, the previous person I interviewed at the end of November, passed away recently. Despite only releasing a few records, he was involved with making a lot of great music and will be missed. Also, if anyone wants to volunteer their web design time to redesign my ridiculously long radio shows webpage (the page that has all the links and playlists) and / or get my show listed on iTunes, please let me know. Also, next week is the station's annual pledge drive, so please consider donating money if pososible. Thanks again for your interest and the playlist for my 4/8/2012 show follows. Chalky Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Cheers Bob. I somehow missed the Michael Sharkey download so I've three new shows to listen to this week You should set up an RSS feed or iTunes. Think the RSS one might be easier to do then won't miss any show.
