Hello People,

Can anyone give me any background on this record I picked up (not much on google etc)

I've spoken to a few knowledgeable people and they've not been able to identify the 45

Basically, I'd like to know if it is it known or not and any opinion on it will be welcome.

The mp3 file is attached, have a listen and see what you think!

Thanks in advance..

Sorry but MP3's are not allowed as per site rules due to legal restraints.

Can I suggest any member who wishes to share a track use Soundcloud or some other third party sharing facility, youtube, mix cloud etc. It is easy to upload a track and you get 120 minutes free with sound cloud.

I've added the one Greg is asking about to my sound cloud page, will delete in a few days.

I know it's a West Coast recording and I agree with you Kev that it's definitely got a white feel..

It's got that early Kenny Rodgers ("Just Dropped In"), later Bobby Darin ("Long Line Rider") feel. No Idea who it is though sorry. What does the label look like? Is it just blank?

Sounds like Merle Haggard or Daryl Petree, one of those hard ass country/rock singers.

I like it.

Mentions God as well and gospel is right in now.

is it this guy or just another guy with the same name:

because the record sounds really White to me (and the psychedelic guitar solo that comes in at the end doesn't help), but Boogie Bill Webb wasn't white.

Hi Boba, I agree it sounds white to me also but your wiki article has thrown in a potential lead. Much appreciated.

Regards

Greg.

I considered Boogie Bill Webb but it sounds much more country/garage/gospel than the blues and Jazz that Boogie Bill is known for.
