Northern Soul Uk Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 (edited) How can you tell an original 'Okeh' copy of Major Lance - You don't want me no more? Just bought one quite cheap and it has 'stamped' in the deadwax 'ZSP118541-1E' 'B' side is 'Wait til I get you in my arms' Any advise would be muchly appreciated. Thank you! pikeys dog Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Large '45' on the label - ie the 45 is in larger font than the 'RPM'
Mick Sway Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Click here for re-issue (small 45) & bootleg Click here for scan of original. Original will have a large a white Okeh, (unless a white demo, in which case it is black) a large 45 RPM and a Columbia pressing plant zsp matrix number stamped in the run out grooves. Mick
Guest smudgesmith Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 That "E" gives the game away........later press.Even if the label has the big 45 tread carefully !!!!
Northern Soul Uk Posted April 5, 2012 Author Posted April 5, 2012 Ok, thank you all for your time and effort. It is a re-issue then by the looks of things, but not overly disappointed as I only paid £11.50 for it.and I'm sure I have seen even the bootleg fetch more. Thanks again Steve
