WELL ITS ON AGAIN AND GETTING BETTER NOW OPEN TILL 1 AM WITH A BAR TILL 12.30 THIS MONTH WE HAVE YES 5 DJS TO MAKE THOSE FEET START MOVING WE HAVE BARNSLEYS MR MOTOWN HIMSELF YOCKY THE BEST THAT BARNSLEYS HAS. Please Read Changes To East Kirkby Miners Welfare

AS of the th September there will be changes to the venue's times and format. We would like to welcome Gaz Archer of Driving Beat Soul club as resident Dj and co promoter of the night.

Since running this venue from March 07 it has had it's high and low moments but under no circumstances is this venue closing so, if you have heard rumors this venue is to close,we would just like to say that the club committee has booked us for the whole of 2008 for this established and regular event.

WE ARE making changes to the opening times and dj line up. We will continue with the same across the board music policy. The bar will now be open from 7.30 until 12.30am The Club will close at 1am.

Both myself and Gary have commited ourselves for the rest of this year and the whole of next year to bring you top quality Dj line up's and throughout next year special events to include our 2nd anniversary in April, so watch out for those coming up. I would like to thank all those Dj's that have played for us so far...many of whom will be appearing again.

on the 8th of june. this is a charity event in aid of arnold pre school. Tickets have gone well i have a few left for the night there will be raffle with some very good prizes and a good dj line up Rob smith kev & Garry from d.b.s.c and myself dave all procceeds go to the pre school there will be limted tickets avalble on the door but if you going to east kirkby on the 1st of june i will be selling them at the door there its all in a good caurse so come on and join us and i hope to see you all at east kirkby on friday the first of june were we have yocky and garry on all welcome old and new

a massive thanks to all those that attend friday the 6 of april at east kirkby . A big thanks to chris cooper from pilsley soul club who played a brill spot top notch music also glyn williams who played a great spot dispite the problems with the decks the night was attended well and a big thanks to kev from D.B.S.C for stepping in to play the warm up spot for me as i was feeling unwell good un kev . But the biggest thanks goes to all of you that attended the night a big thank you so if you enjoyed it why not come on the 4th of may when i have ian gee & debbie (queen of fools) playing the best in across the board music but once again a big thanks to you all

Fun Last Night

Well a big thanks to all those who came and supported us last night was a good 'un. Gary would'nt remember tho' he was brought in and packed off into a corner by Kev and Bryn to rest for his long drive home bottom lip supported by his glass of lemonade he watched the proceedings with his usual jolly smile Bryn was again caught boogie'ing but the pillar was covered to prevent him pole dancing again and Carl freed up for the night was seen to have a dance or three as the Dj"s....Debbie played some cracking tunes (proving the ladies have it too) Paul and Cressy had everyone up on the floor (superglue at the bar proved too strong for some to break free tho, the committee wer'nt taking chances that the bar would be down lol) Dave with stood the heckling from Mary and Val something about the size of his car ! and played on well Ray dominated his chosen corner and defended it against all comers all night Big thanks to Joyce and John (Barnsley ) for their support - Can we have the floor polish back please Joyce !!

Hope to see you all there on April 6th at the 1st anniversary bash

The Future Of East Kirkby Miners Welfare

hello all

As of friday march 2nd 07 the East Kirkby Miners welfare will be run by dave knight(a.k.a nite nurse) . This is due to carl stepping down to follow other roads.This venue has always had a good grounding and a reputation of a traditional oldies only night with a dedicated but small following of ardent soulies.

My thanks to carl for all the hard work he as put into this venue i have the greatest respect for carl as a dj and a promoter and a freind carl as also indicated he will still support the venue and even come along as a guest dj from time to time at future events.

Thank you to Carl .

The venue will be under going changes in music policy which i hope will not only please the regular supporters but also encourage new comers to see what we are offering .

This will be a good mix of motown / northern /a little rnb / and modern in a attempted to cater for all tastes. The new sound will be provided by some of the best djs in the midlands

On the 2nd of february Den Dog (fez) kev( d.b.s.c) and me as the res dj will be playing you top across the board tunes

ON THE 2ND OF MARCH TWO OF THE TOP DJS CRESSY (BENTINCK) & PAUL GATS (AWSWORTH). Will spinning you top tunes from across the board.

This is an established venue and it will continue to be held on the first friday of each month and I will not be changing it from that.

I am hoping to provide the same great friendly atmosphere that has always been present at east kirkby miners welfare with pleasant bar staff and cheap bar till 12 or later dependig on wether you dance or drop
