Bunderthollox Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Hi oddly enough I picked up a Naylor lamp (made by J HNaylor Wigan) my guess its from the last century or the 19th certainly its a pit lamp which isnt working but has all the glass brass etc. and is a nice looking piece. I was told that Russ Winstanley used it to light up his turntab...ok thats a lie. Anyone interested in this type of thing just pm me make me an offer. I would have to sort out post. ta Seanio

Guest allnightandy Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Safety lamps fetch good money on Ebay, have a look. Kev. Only the extremely rare ones you can buy the more common ones for less than £40 with the J H Naylor lamps it all depends on model and year of manufacture J H Naylor (The Wigan Brass company) were sitll manufacturing in the 1960's and poss beyond the really early Davie lamps 1700's can fetch upwards of £13,000 but like isaid the more modern ones are still manufactured today and are still used today by mining companies and even people like the Gas companies still use them Andy
