I know we've had lots of material from the US trade mags but I'm going over them with a fine tooth comb this time - I was astonished to find trade adverts for Carol Fredericks (Stonel) and Nat Hall (Loop), records we presumed were underpromoted mega-flops

Roburt Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 That's because tiff files aren't as 'compressed' as jpegs ..... so they tend to be less distorted & reproduce better (in CD booklets / on album covers).

That's why I specifically mentioned that tiffs were used by those "who require higher resolution images in a non-compressed format"!

Sounds rather different to how it would be described today - that's if anyone could agree on the terms and genres that could be used!
