Simon T Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 I've got a copy of Ann Perry - That's the way he is which looks the part, but I seem to remember that there is a issue on a much darker green label. It has a 'bell sound' stamp and was wonder if it's just a different colour paper used, legit re-isssue or strange boot. Any ideas?

Hi Simon I think Tim Brown had quantity of pictured one just when he started dealing full time and i think they were Bell sound stamped, the Rossette ones were on styrene and were a light blue in colour, mine went to Tim 6/7 years ago.

No Simon don't think it's a re-issue at all, can't remember the story with the "rosette" but it's on a couple of other labels as well "PETAL" for one& i think are merely west coast releases, the one you have is an east coast release (& I don't mean Morecambe bugger I meant Cleethorpes ) someone back me up on this ? Modernsoulsucks Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 OK, second attempt. Hello Im a new member and obviously know as much about navigating my way round this bloody site as I do about soul music. I composed a witty erudite answer to Simon's query, previewed it to omit any information that was garnered under torture in an East European country and pressed something I should have maybe not pressed with the benefit of hindsight. Anyway what I wanted to say was that I think the Anne Perry is the Detroit pressing as opposed to the West Coast styrene/rosette pressing. "Bell Sound" stamp would suggest it's not a boot. I have J.J Barnes "So far away" on Mickay's which I notice is also "Bell Sound" and Im pretty sure that wasn't booted as it's rubbish really. More to the point I have the 45 too and I got it years ago from a mate in USA's collection and he'd got it in early 70's. So Simon ,don't throw it away. Thank you [for kind comments and warm welcome] ROD

Modernsoulsucks Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 It might be my new user name... You probably know by now that Im not you. Do like the "end tag" on your postings though but nowhere near enough.!! After breakage should be put in an oven at gas mark whatever and slowly roasted until sticks to the fork. Cooled in something that cools things and then buried deep underground where devils with pitchforks...... Anyway Im sure you get where Im coming from.
