The Crash label

Jimmy Dobbins Little Miss Perfect / What Is Love Crash 426

The Steelers The flame remains / Heaven's gift Crash 428

The Steelers Just beginning to love you / Crying bitter tears Crash 430

This is all I could quickly rustle up.

2047 - Mike Pearson - Are You Happy / Need To Belong - Crash

This record is a completly different design to Jimmy Dobbins and the Steelers and doesnt mention Chicago. It also has "Sound Of The Future" which I dont think is on the other Crash releases. The reason I think they're linked is that this and Jimmy Dobbins are both Jerhart publishing and produced by Bob Lee.

427 Roy Wright "Heartbreak (Awful Day)/ Somethings Wrong

Funny you should mention Roy Wright. The Mike Pearson I mentioned has exactly the same colour lable design as Roy Wrights Mica release Hook Line & Sinker which also has the Al Benson connection

Thanks for all the replies and comments chaps.

Pulled it all together and this is what we've got.

The Crash label

Mike Pearson Are You Happy / Need To Belong Crash 2047

Magic Sam Out Of Bad Luck / She belongs to me Crash 425

Jimmy Dobbins Little Miss Perfect / What Is Love Crash 426

Roy Wright Heartbreak (Awful Day) / Something's Wrong Crash 427

The Steelers The flame remains / Heaven's gift Crash 428

? Crash 429

The Steelers Just beginning to love you / Crying bitter tears Crash 430

The Answers Things Gonna Get Better Tomorrow / What Happened Girl Crash 0012

A couple of questions:

Anybody got a rough idea when this label was operating?

Is it safe to assume Bob Lee owned this label?

Was there a release on Crash 429?

I thank you,

al benson owned the label, not bob lee. then after it went out of business, al and bob lee sort of reopened crash and mica, which is what led to the weird later numbers.

Credit to John Manship here's Roy Wright "Heartbreak"

Found a copy of this today whilst out digging...the flipside isn't too shabby either.

What's the going rate (if there is one!?) for this awesome double-sider/
