Ernie Andrews Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Looks like a war will ensue! Would appreciate prices - I dont like silent auctions!
Jumpinjoan Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Looks like a war will ensue! Would appreciate prices - I dont like silent auctions! It's not an auction though. You pm him and he sends you the price. Why not just post the price in the first place? Seems a little odd to me.
Keithw Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 would like a billy hines ------ nice HAVE coasters demo / issue to sell myself if anyone interested
Guest Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 just put the bloody price on ! all a bit dodgy ...... may as well put em on e bay .. its just an auction for sure.. zippo 1
whereismy record Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Anyone had the priced emailed to them yet?
Pete S Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 There's nothing cloak and dagger about this, the seller just doesn't want his sales list turning into one of those "it's not worth that" and "how can he charge that much" episodes which take over the thread. He's priced them up and tells me everyone who asked will be getting a reply very soon, but he has been swamped with requests. And I'm not one of the interested parties on any record, it's just if you've never actually sold records before, it can be a bit daunting to start with. It's not an auction - he will send you the price of the record you asked about.

All seems a bit strange to me so no thanks Edit: not to mention hassle? Having people pm you to ask the price, pming them back with the price, waiting for them to pm back with a yes or a no? I might be on my own here but that seems like a hard way to sell records. Good luck to the guy though, it is a hard thing to do letting your collection go. Edited March 16, 2012 by jumpinjoan

I haven't sold records before so it's all a bit daunting to say the least. As Pete say's i just didn't want the thread to be swamped with negative comments. Maybe the next lot will be in a different format ie PRICED AND THEN LOCKED. I was overwhelmed with enquiries after just a few hours last night, but will be contacting EVERYONE via p.m. tonight Aussie Time. Yes it will be a massive wrench parting with some of the best reords on the planet as i have never really had the oppurtunity to play most of them whilst living here in Australia. ( It has no place for a 100 % rare soul night ). I HAVE spun a few of them on my deejaying trips to the U.K. But my life is taking a different direction so it's time to let them go. A.T.B. Derby born Derby bred ( sheep that is lol ). ANYWAY JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW WHO SENT ME A P.M. ABOUT THE SALES LIST, I WILL BE REPLYING TO THEM TONIGHT ( AUSSIE TIME ) IN THE ORDER THEY CAME THROUGH SO IT WILL BE FIRST COME FIRST SERVED. PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO HOLD ANY RECORDS AS THE INTEREST IN THEM HAS BEEN VERY HIGH. Thanks, Tony Edgley.
Premium Stuff Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 (edited) Wonder if the levell of interest is just due to people wanting to know how much they are being sold for - rather than wanting to buy? Holding back prices then issuing them in order of original enquiries seems a little unorthodox. Succeeding in then buying them, if previously in first/early depends on the people who got in first (and who could have bought then) being around again to reply fast - otherwise the next few behind in the queue will get them. Just my thoughts Richard Edited March 16, 2012 by Premium Stuff
Blake H Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 No you don't mate......there's loads of much better records on the list than this one..... Think Bri's more intrested in t'other side BH

NEV Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Nothing wrong with someone generating a bit of interest in records that are of this calibre. Anyone who know's or has dealt with Tony ,will know of his previous posts regarding his dliemna with his beloved venue being taken away from him,and also know that he does'nt sell records (normally),so hey ho ,if it doesnt conform with your style of buying etc ....whats the problem ? Seems like a shark fest ,feeding frenzy ,when a little patience and understanding for a man selling up his beloved collection or prized soul records ,is all thats needed! p.s 5 NUMBERS & TWO LUCKY STARS TONIGHT PLEASE
Modernsoulsucks Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 As I see Bearsy has a list stating both price and condition I see no need to continue this discussion so Im locking this ad. I would say that stating price and condition in a sales ad would be the better option than having to answer numerous PMs. ROD [forum moderator]
