Dennisoul Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 This morning while eating my branflakes I heard something getting stuffed through my letterbox...panic at first as I'm waiting on a couple of tunes to arrive...but too early for the postie -09:38..just thought then it was junk mail...panic over!!! Went down to the door about an hour later and too my horror was a brown envelope clearly marked from USA, just big enough to house a 45.....my heart sank and panic set in, the noise of it being stuffed through the door biw ringing in my head......I picked the envelope up feeling for pieces....hmm just seemed a bit bendy....opened up the envelope to see a white demo if Otis Leavill on limelight... surrounded only by one small piece of bubble wrap....Still in one piece!!! Oh lord thank you!!!!....not ridiculously rare but a gorgeous white demo in mint condition. I've since emailed the seller with some advice on packing tunes, to which they were grateful for the advice.....one of the lucky days indeed. 2
Scotters Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 What was the 45..."I'm amazed"?! I've had a delivery like that before too, and record was also amazingly okay. Compare that to some that are packed so well you feel like a kid at Christmas as you eagerly go through the various layers. Great 1
Jumpinjoan Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Sounds like a record I received from Rob Smith - only mine was minus the bubble wrap 3
Supercorsa Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Ooh, Tuesday must be record delivery day. I received this morning, Emanuel Laskeys Peace Loving Man from Detroit via Tokyo! Does Dave Flynn work in a hospital? The tape he uses is strangely similar to sticking plaster . 2

Guest allnightandy Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I had a Samantha Jones Ray of Sunshine White demo It was shrivel up warped all the way round and had four hairline cracks in it it must have been leaning on a heater on the plane or in a post office somewhere at some point , as the seller said it was perfect when he sent it :( :(
Codfromderby Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 ive had a styrene okeh 45 from allen radwill from america survive the journey encased in only a a5 envelope folded around the record (no sleeve), and then again a 45 from the uk in a record mailer that somehow had got folded into half... slightly off thread i recently got an old emidisc through the post, unfortuntately my border collie dog got to it first and bit it as it came through the letter box, teeth went through the plastic into the metal denting it beyond repair (a new grading ?), it said fragile on the envelope but the border collie cant read

boba Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 what happened to this guy? I know he couldn't possibly be on ebay now with the DSRs counting, but he dropped off the radar years ago. The best was reading his negative feedback about selling fake autographs, I always thought that was funny.
