Shane shane i would refrain from commenting on this topic if i were you, as i tried to stop smoking at soul or nothing several times that nite but you kept forceing them cast away sticks of death and damnation back into my grasp...anyway iam sure in the end smoking will be band totaly and tobaco will be made an illeagle drug and all the upstanding citizens that attend the soul scene will have to say my goodness me take banned substances never and that will be the end of that

Shane
Guest Baz Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 I took my mate in to a smokey pub once he used to be into tractors........soon as we walked in the place cleared of smoke the barman said "what the F**k happened there, its ok hes an ex-tractor fan

Shane but seriously it can never be band after alls said and done without dj,s there would be no scene and show me a dj without somone blowing smoke up his arse
vnicepce Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 Drinking only affects the person who is drinking..Not if they spill it all over the dancefloor ......but its the music that counts...If they go no smoking then its no-problem, ...especially when they insist of walking the longest possible route, across a full dancefloor with a night's supply of pints!!!!!-re the smoking/no smoking debate-I love the sounds of soul, so I have to put up with the imposition of smokers on me; but it is amusing when Drink-Driving, drunkenness, Drug-Taking are used in defence of this habit, but there you go...

Simsy Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 I havent got a Habit...... Thought only NUNS had them Steve I go through about three lighters a day now too much ?
Quinvy Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Drinking only affects the person who is drinking..Not if they spill it all over the dancefloor or step out of order when they have had too much..I am a weekend smoker only at soul events,i would choose a smoking venue if i had the choice but its the music that counts...If they go no smoking then its no-problem,i aint a big smoker but many i know are and would be in and out of the venue all night..I was in Dublin last year for a soul event and after a while you get used to the no smoking policy and they do have little rooms that you can use..Now what about no beer like it was in the old days would there be any of you lot there Now that is a good idea for a thread Steve. Would you attend a venue that had no alcohol??? I certainly would, as long as the music was quallity. Just like the old days.
Geordiejohnson Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 please dont ban drink.....i only drink to make other people seem interesting Shane Ah Cummon shaneryour only interesting when you drink Geooooordie
Guest Kevin J Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 as of last week wednesday, one cannot smoke in ANY ESTABLISHMENT anywhere in the State of Washington, and smoking outdoors must be 25 feet from the door of any building or you will be fined $100. guess its a good time to quit.
Guest Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Now listen here. I selflessly inhale toxic fumes to ensure the longevity of our failing NHS infrastructure. If all smokers were to quit tonight the NHS (and many other things?) would fall down tomorrow. You should be thanking your lucky stars that there are those selfless enough, willing to risk their lives, to support the NHS and suchlike. I think you will find that FORREST have enough material to conquer any fibs about the risks of passive smoking OK, it smells, some hate the smell - others find it very nice indeed and I don't just mean smokers. Bejesus, some people smell worse under their pits than people I know that smoke. A respected toxicologist has proven that passive smokers smoke at the most one cigarette a week down to two cigarettes a year! I don't think you will ever find conclusive medical evidence that passive smokers die from it. They were destined to get cancer in the first place - it's all mapped out before your entrance into this world. The facts about metastise is incredible, the way the primary cancer sends out cells long after the body has already primed the secondary site ready to welcome the travelling cells.... it's so fascinating it excites me! If I were born again, I would become a doctor. I'm too old now.

Guest Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Alcahol related medical expenditure goes far beyond that of smoking related (or so they say-as really there is no exacting proof). Alcahol related expenditure can be measure exactly as far as nhs spending is concerned.. because the recipient of care is fucking pissed LOL
Guest Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Should ban drinking in pub`s, that`ll do nicely..... camara`s in pub`s like speed cam`s,but fer` yer` smoker`s,should satisfy the treasury.......fookin` big brother

Hope i`ve not said to much, but dont care.....not tonight anyway.
Guest Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I agree with you mate... the only reason most people don't complain about alcahol is because they enjoy being pissed. Because it doesnt expell (so they say) toxicicity, they think it's ok.... because it only affects the drinker. WRO-HONG! How emu like is that assumption?

Cheer`s soulgirl,i`m sick of it bit like M+M,me Mum being fed uppers, deck`s 20mlgrs & downer`s on the same script, the same doc` for year`s,and then she used to drink 24 hours a day, used to go with her when i was about 11,and could do 10 pint`s easely by 12,but bored with it now, Ho there`s my liver problem`s,.....ha! well life too short.
Guest Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 Oh Ken... that's sad. GP's back then weren't really aufait with prescription drug addiction.. now they get told off for NOT prescribing.. they can't win As for your liver problem.. did you know that the liver is the only self rejuvinating organ in your body? If you don't have chronic liver disease, you can turn it around
