Bill Withers-"Just As I Am" Bill Withers is remastered and given the "Dual-Disc" treatment on this his first and most important album which includes "Ain't No Sunshine", "Harlem" and "Grandma's Hands". The video or DVD side of this new format contains a brand new documentary about Withers including interviews with him now and clips from the early 70's mixed with photos, graphics, and archival footage of the period that is totally worth the price of admission and Edited December 6, 2005 by mike-

The sound quality is allegedly worse than normal CD although I really don't see why that should be the case at all. I suspect thats some people's prejudices coming through (like mine!). I understand that the format is not expected to be that popular for a variety of reasons, more interesting is whether CD will be upgraded generally to HDCD or some other improved format which takes CD to the standard it should have been when launched in what was yet another great consumer rip off. Dual disc has its own home page: https://www.dualdisc.com/faq.html Edited December 6, 2005 by Stuart T
soulAdequateNP Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 Never heard of it before - and to be honest, can't see it taking off as it's probably more cost effective to press separate CD and DVD and stick them both in a double pack case (which already happens with numerous major label releases)
