I'm going to Leeds this Monday on a work-related thing but should have some time to spare in the afternoon. Anyone know if there are any good specialist record shops I should pop into while I'm up there? Ta.

Nope, sorry. Fek all unfortunately. Jumbo (St Johns Centre) your best bet if after comp CDs etc (does have a soul / northern section) but thats about it. Death of the UK record store and all that.

Yeh sorry trev forgot about Relics, Lps mainly occasionally the odd bit of 'ok stuff' and some jazz / latin though all the good stuff are mainly reissued things.

Thanks chaps, as it turned out didn't get a chance to check either of these shops as the bast**d trains were delayed...still, may be going to York next month, may have better luck there?

Rumour has it that there's going to be a new record shop opening on East Parade in Leeds soon. Not sure what it's going to stock (records obviously, but what genres??). Supposed to have a 'chill out' area too where you can indulge in a mock-a-choca-chino coffee or whatever they're called

There's three I know of in York , 'Attic Records' the best, though limited soul wise- occasional nice pieces Edited by andybellwood

Sad thing is though, it will only be able to stay open if it stocks loads of dub-step, cos that's what the kids are into these days apparently

Thought the kids were into One Direction as proved at the Brit awards!!!! What a load of shite- dub-step and one direction that is.

They obviously have not had a taste of the music thats played at That Driving Beat and Empty Bottles, but thats their loss.

:hatsoff2: Hi All I still have fond memorys of Leeds in the mid 70s, however surely there must be someone who can invite this potential customer to your drum to buy some unwanted sounds, why not knock up Pat Bradey, Tell im I said you had to let you in??? Dave
