Blunny Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Just a quickie question. Is the UK Sevens release the only way to own "Eddie Holman - Where I'm Not Wanted" on vinyl? Ta for any info.
Soul-slider Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Also came out on a dubios looking black label 45 (Soul... something or another?) backed with the Detroit Prophets (Originals) faster version (and some say the best) 'Suspicion'.
Supercorsa Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Soul Beat was the black label release, with either Sister Sledge, Ronnie Dyson or another which I can't remember at the moment, because I'm at work. I've got two records on this label, from my scootering days back in the 80's. I thought this was released on Grapevine 2000 series, could be wrong though.

Benji Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 I thought this was released on Grapevine 2000 series, could be wrong though. Sorry you're indeed wrong. It's Eddies' take of "She's wanted" (Larry Clinton) that was issued on G2K. sweet memories lp on universal includes a great slow version of i surrender too...a couple on discogs for sale at the moment if you google 'sweet memories eddie holman' dean The slower take of "I surrender" came out on a Goldmine LP/CD before Universal. Don't know if "where I'm not wanted" is also on that album. Wasn't "Where I'm not wanted" included in the Goldmine Wigan Casino 25th Anniversary 7" box?
TOAD Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 no way! The goldmine lp/cd came out years later !
Benji Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Oops, I had it down as late 90s. But just learned it was late 80s.

Benji Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 I think that was "Hurt" Yep. Mixed up both titles
Guest Paul Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 There were three Eddie Holman singles on Grapevine in the G2K 45 series: 'Hold Me In Your Arms' (G2K 45-138) released 2003 'She's Wanted' (G2K 45-150) released 2004 'Sweet Memories Are Haunting Me' (G2K 45-160) released 2006 Paul
Chalky Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Wasn't this on a white label boot from the late 80's? Don't think its had a legit release on a 7 has it?
