Hi all

First a quick bit about me - from Stoke-On-Trent, my main stomping grounds were Tiffanys Stoke (the Bali Hai downstairs on a sunday evening) Blackpool Mecca Sat nights and Manchester Ritz all dayers from around 1975-80

Used to get to all-nightes in Sheffied too, back end of '77 but can't remember hte name of that venue, plus a few other clubs around Manchester, Burnley and Birmingham.

But enough about me - what I wanted to ask, and here seems as good a place as any....

It seems a lot of folks remember a lot of tracks from those halcyon days - but there was this one track they used to play at the Ritz sometime early in '77 I think, that seems to have been 'lost' somewhere down the line. As I can't find any reference about it whatsoever on the net.

My copy went missing with some other albums and 12s not long after I got married so I no longer have it.

Anyway this was an album track, the album (and even the track name) I don't recall now but the album was by L.A.S.O (Latin American Soul Orchestra) and went 'Get Down Get Down to that LASO sound' but I haven't heard it for 32 years or more, can't even remember if it was any good but I liked it at the time!

I remember the album cover having a 'girl' on it with bright colourful wings

Anyone know what that album/track was and maybe where i can track down an MP3 even to hear it again?

Cheers

Rick

PS going to the Ritz alldayer next month

Laso - the first album and Laso Square was a biggie for Colin Curtis.

another star was the main interest uk wide

but laso square was the main one @ ritz etc

even got the odd play at wigan

had always thought there was a major difference between the 12 and lp versions of laso square but a recent hurried comparison says not that much

Oh yeah it was 'Laso Square' for sure! Haven't heard that for soooo long and I still love it

Wonder if we'll get that one at the Ritz Reunion Alldayer?
