Ray Copley Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Can someone please confirm if come on train on the blue vee jay label is a genuine, legal re-issue or a boot? Thanks, KC Acording to the Manship Guide it's a genuine issue on VEE JAY 1001 Blue Label Value £25 - but it's not the 1st issue as that was on Nuvj 1001 either a pink issue or a Dj copy £100 or £150 ! I'm no expert unlike many others on here but that's what I've read from the Manship Guide for you ! If I'm wrong then I appologies and I would be learning something aswell ! Hope it helps
Steve L Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 John Manship has the blue copy at £25 in his price guide, this would suggest a legal reissue as he wouldnt list it if he considered it a bootleg, he also states there is a maroon coloured bootleg. However Tim Browns guide states that there is a maroon and a blue bootleg. So who is right? How does anyone know for certain in these situations?
Prophonics 2029 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 The NVJ WLP and the blue are different takes even if it is a boot leg also with different B sides.
Steve G Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 It's not a bootleg it's a 2nd issue put out to meet northern demand in 1975. Think the Fidels or something similar suffered a similar fate.
Guest Andy Kempster Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) having pondered over this for some time before buying my copy recently it appeared that as steve says the blue is a reissue to meet demand (and a slightly different take) original issue pink and a white demo of course in case you're wondering i went for the issue Edited February 21, 2012 by Andy Kempster
