Ian Dewhirst Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Those magical lists were the main reason I used to risk life and limb driving over snake pass usually on a pissing down Thursday night every few weeks! Hope yer well Bri! Ian D
bri phill Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 Glad they were of interest to someone I had a few sent me from 1972 to 1975 ( wish I could find the early ones from 68etc.) On that list there was some great stuff 25p -75p and some in demand crap at big money but that's the way the scene was going at that time. I noticed Billy Davis 75p on there thats seems to be big at the moment. Regards Brian
Jim G Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 £5 to £10 was a fortune in 74! a pint of lager cost approx 16p to 18p back then, which puts into perpsective some of the prices. If only we coudl time travel.... Great topic and thanks for posting the lists, they are fascinating reading
Quinvy Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Your lists were the most important things in my life back in the early 70's Brian. Despite the fact that by the time my letter had found it's way to Middleton, most of the 45's I wanted had gone. If only I'd had the means to visit your house, like I've been told a lot of people did in those days. It's easy to forget just how difficult it was to get around then, especially for a 16 year old kid. Great memories though. I even had an understanding with my boss at work that, every time I got a Soul Bowl list, I could spend the first hour on the phone re-dialing trying to be the first to get through at 9.00 am. Then work over an extra hour to make up the time. Again, I never got the 45's I was after. Thanks for posting the list up. Funny as I was in Dave Box's company on Tuesday and we were just discussing your old list.

Great topic and thanks for posting the lists, they are fascinating reading Yeah, but how frustrating when your time machine got you back there & you hadn't any old pound notes or fivers to buy them with......."what the f*** do you mean thats a pound coin - p*** off"
