boba Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 which came first, the earnest or the king? his first 45 was actually ernie king on mercury. He still played blues around Chicago until he died a few years ago.
Guest Andy Kempster Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 i was thinking more of the track "you're gonna miss me" in particular did the sonic release come first?
Sebastian Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 i was thinking more of the track "you're gonna miss me" in particular did the sonic release come first? Yes. The release on the LK label is in stereo and is from 1976 and has also got a different flipside.

Dylan Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 any ideas value wise, seem to be all over the place on popsike the producer was selling copies on ebay a few years ago most were about 150GBP
boba Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 the producer was selling copies on ebay a few years ago most were about 150GBP I don't think it was the producer selling copies. What was their user ID?
Guest Andy Kempster Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 i thought £100/£150 seemed about right
Markw Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Is this the same chappie as King Ernest (without the 'a') on Barry?
Soulbarner Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 i thought £100/£150 seemed about right Think youd pay more than that for the sonic one' more like £250/£300
Dylan Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I don't think it was the producer selling copies. What was their user ID? sorry I can't remember his ID he also had other things on the label.
boba Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Is this the same chappie as King Ernest (without the 'a') on Barry? I think so but I'm not sure. He did have a few more records though, he had a nice funk 45 and another 45 which i haven't heard because butch outbids me on it every time it comes up for sale.
Quinvy Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 his first 45 was actually ernie king on mercury. He still played blues around Chicago until he died a few years ago. Bob, do you have this 45? the issue is very rare.
boba Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Bob, do you have this 45? the issue is very rare. I have a red stock copy. Maybe 7-8 years ago a Chicago dealer got a copy and (I felt) he was gouging me at $40 so I bought one off gemm for cheaper instead of him. There were a few on gemm at that time. Now that people are looking for it there's obviously not copies on gemm.
