Maybe they have 2 copies of something and you miss out. I wonder what "warehouse find" it was though -- I don't know what record warehouses would be around where I live. Obviously they could have gotten the stuff from far away. Link to comment Social source share

Surely, if this was indeed 'Store' stock then there would be some issues in his listings rather than the mint demos (of all genres) that he appears to be selling? boba
Surely, if this was indeed 'Store' stock then there would be some issues in his listings rather than the mint demos (of all genres) that he appears to be selling? I've actually been through unopened store stock (in the back of an actual store) that only had promo copies of polydor titles. I got some copies of vaneese and carolyn "just a little smile" and they were all promos. I sold them to barrie waddington as unused store stock (which they were) and he was annoyed with me when he got them that they weren't actually stock copies. I guess that explains why some polydor stock copies are so rare, if even the stores were carrying promos. Either way, I have no idea what this deadstock is. I'm just pretty sure it's not from a library or radio station as they would mark up their copies. I should maybe just call them or something or knock on their door. I don't think they would appreciate it though. Link to comment Social source share
Manfromsoul45s
I think your all missing the point. This is part of the mountain of records that Mr Bicknell predicted, and there are hundreds of copies of every shrine record, 150 copies of G. Pepp and Esther Grant. Every record there is in fact, and if the guy is black then they are all bound to be all soul records!!! Priceless.....lol Edited February 10, 2012 by hootenannie Link to comment Social source share

Goldsoul
Written by Stan Vincent. I remember Ian Levine and I talking to him at Midem back in the 90's. The writer of the million seller Ooh Child -Five Stairsteps. Stan was a regular writer/producer for Buddah and distributed labels around 1968-74. Boy this looks RARE....never seen it, apart from Soul Sam playing at the Kings Hall,Stoke. Unlike Billy Davies on the same label which featured heavily at Selectadisc in 1972 via the 3 for £1 bin. I left it.....but The Valentinos-Sweeter... and Parliaments-Heart Trouble were a different story Link to comment Social source share

Rob Wigley
A great find, he's listing all sorts including the rare and not so rare Velvet Underground 45s--making $20 to $250 a piece. Certainly 3 Tony Middletons a couple of Velours so far. All radio Station stock had to be pressed at some point and sent out to individual stations 10s of thousands in USA in the 60s. So it was somebodys job to mail them out to local record pushers such as "Ed Chips"...bound to have come from a local warehouse and probably been stripped in the past of the rare Beatles, garage, Phyc etc Good luck to him ¹ Postage is very high for individual cheaper records so not really worth doing unless you buy a lot Rob Edited February 10, 2012 by Rob Wigley Link to comment Social source share
