Soulof Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 last years tarck was Pat & the Blenders for me. This year def Sammy Campbell - I never thought Queen City. Sounded just soo good again at Soul or Nothing this Sat when Paul Sadot (also a big spin for Christian H here happily for us ) . Must be going massive in a short time (if its not allready) Many good soulnights. Haven´t enjoyed my home ones in Gothenburg as I used to really this year of some reason but Prestatyn was good again (even though not as good as 2004) , Soul or Nothing in Manchester (two great nights), Soulquake in Malmoe with Butch was fantastic (also loved the Inner City Soul Club in Malmoe) + not to forget at all the brilliant night in Oslo this autumn. Best personal purchase . happy I finally got Lena & the Deltanettes . been after it a long time . fav Dj: have heard to few to make a fair justment this year but Butch in Prestatyn, Paul Sadot Sunday home party session this Summer + James Troubles aggresive uptempo set in Oslo are three I can remember 3 biggest I´m a lucky bastard (man of the match) after northern events moments: 1. got my tot worn out Dundee United wallet back from Augusts Soul or Nothing with credit cards and money and all in it after someone phoning Steve - Do you have a Swedish guy there ?? 2. got my records back after losing them in a taxi after playing at Inner City soul club in Malmoe. Managed to phone them back. bathery on mobil were almost down to zero... 3. Must have felt asleep with my new record this Sunday. Couldn´t find it the day after. Steve saying as a joke look under the sofa and there it is. uncracked. Strength through vinyl ! Hoping for a even better soulful 2006 and a bit safer record and walletwise....

Guest rachel Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 But Shane, it's only just December, might change my mind by the end of the year.. not that I can make it up now Fave venues? Sheridans (sniff), many good times there this year... getting increasingly fond of Lloyd Street and very impressed with the Greatstone even though I've only been once. Not generally fond of big big venues but loved Middleton Fave tune? Larry Reynolds - Sweet Tooth Fave DJ? Can't pick just one, but the line up for Lifeline next weekend makes me

Guest Soultown andy Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Fav venue lifline and backbeat allniters regardless of were they were held, because they are run by soul fans for soul fans.Highlight of the year takeing over middleton with the help of Joe Dutton[backbeat] and Andy Dyson and Chalky[Lifeline]and realiseing we could keep our niters running just the way we did at sheridans, only bigger[more rooms djs etc]and better[facilities parking etc],so looking forward to a fantastic 2006.
Guest Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Fave venue? Prestatyn for sure... wish it was a week long. Fave tune? Had to think hard about this... but have chosen Harvey Averne Never Learned To Dance Fave DJ? Steve Csordas - a box full of stuff that just does it for me.

Guest Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Fave Venue - can't really give one as I've only been out a handful of times this year, but probably Wilton, though really enjoyed Sheridans too, and the Orwell Fave record - that Mixed Feelings (or something like that) record that Butch plays, oh and Jerry Washington, which makes me shout at Michael whenever I hear it at home because "it's not fair I WANT to go out" Fave DJ - without a doubt little Mark Dobson. Always has been, probably always will be
