Guest Ferrett
Who said there's no interest in Northern Soul in New Zealand!? In fact, they love it so much, they've started naming their streets after Northern Soul legends!! This soulful road was spotted in New Plymouth on a recent ferrett tour of New Zealand and Australia. The volcano in the background is due to be renamed from Mount Taranaki to Hesitations Hill in the next few weeks (or perhaps I've made this part up!?) By the way, thanks to all the Australian Soulies who made us feel very welcome at the recent Sydney Soul Weekender whilst we were on our travels. These weekenders are superb and are highly recommended with a great mix of DJ's playing everything from out and out oldies to current mid tempo and crossover sounds. The organisers had even produced a weekender CD (including many of the tracks being played at the weekender) and a very stylish weekender t-shirt featuring the Sydney Opera House. 10 out of 10 guys - superb weekend!!!! Well worth the 22 hour flight and the week of jet lag!! Bring on Melbourne 2006!! The travelling ferretts (AKA Neil & Chimene) P.S. REALLY nice to come back to the UK yesterday to 2 degree temperatures, snow, grey skies and sunsets at 4.30pm!! Don't you just love winters in the UK!!!!!!
