Does anyone here know the connection that The Valaquons' management had to Motown's L.A. Jobete Music office for them to have recorded a Jobete song for Tangerine Records ("Window Shopping On Girls' Avenue"?

I'm confused what this thread is about, are you asking for scans? I have the ray-co record and I think all francettes 45s.

The ray-co group is definitely the same group as the tangerine group, there are common names, etc. But I think they are actually NOT the laguna group (which has a slightly different spelling of the name and a totally different sound), despite all 3 records being LA.

I need scans on all of them and sound files on some of them. Sorry I should have been clearer.

It does seem to be incredibly hard Bob. Do you know much about them?

The Valaquons will be very handy, thanks

sorry I haven't done this yet, I have been super busy and it's crazy late right now and have to go to sleep. Will scan and record the valaquons tomorrow.

here is the current fran-cettes listing in soul harmony singles. will try to investigate more tomorrow. I also don't have that sleeper 45 but it appears to be the same as the wolfie release, which I do have.

Hi Bob in particular, that M.M. one went by me, any chance of a scan of the labels? From the tiles it looks more girly than soul but let me know your opinion please.

Thanks Bob,

Guy Hemric (on BMI) and Jerry Styner have written hundreds of songs, mainly early 60s poppy things, usually surf or girl group. Is it what we'd call a girly record rather than soul?

you mean does it sound like white pop or "teener"? I will listen later. But I think a bunch of the francettes 45 sound similar.

That address of 3051 12th Avenue was a private house in the Jefferson Park area of South Los Angeles.  Kent Harris probably lived there at the time.

Here's the house.  It looks the same as it did in the early 1960s (or in the late 1930s, for that matter):
