NEV Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Hi Does anyone have a label scan for a wdj copy of this please ? James Dockery - my faith in you is all gone (soul craft ) sc1
NEV Posted January 27, 2012 Author Posted January 27, 2012 I seem to recall previous duscussions on here about the record and it's value on red v the 70's , I'm sure someone asked how much for a wdj copy ? On my mobile now but will try and find the thread in archives
Chalky Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 There's talk of one in this topic...... And possibly in this topic
NEV Posted January 27, 2012 Author Posted January 27, 2012 You beat me to it mate ,Ged Parker mentions only ever seeing one ?
NEV Posted January 27, 2012 Author Posted January 27, 2012 I've never seen a demo either... I will post up a scan later,of one I've seen . Having trouble uploading images from iPhone ?
NEV Posted January 27, 2012 Author Posted January 27, 2012 I've never seen a demo either... Hi Tony ...just in from work Have got the scan now and the sound file ,and it seems the wdj is actually same version as the 1970 cut ?
Chalky Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Cheers Nev. Like I said don't recall ever seeing one. You say it is the same as the 70's Blue label copy but doesn't make sense really as the layout is almost the same as the red label release?
Guest Perception Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 The copies with the YUCCA ST. address are the 70's recut copies. Demo and issue.
Andy Rix Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 The copies with the YUCCA ST. address are the 70's recut copies. Demo and issue. James moved from Chicago to the West Coast, where he cut another version of the song ... he's been back in Chicago for quite a long time He said he left 45s behind in a facility, lock-up I assume, but it was a bit far for him to check what was actually there Andy

Know what you mean ,but if you look at the 1970 label ,apart from the obvious colour and more elegant label design ,all the credits match ,unlike the red label copies ? Either way I still think its a rare one and to be fair ,it is not a bad rework ,albeit in a 70's style .

Yeah noticed the credits are the same, address etc, just strange the demo is very similar to the red label copy and nothing like the blue label issue. Like you say a rare one either way, thanks for posting.

Finewine was telling me the other day that the Jonah Dockery record on Thomas (which is him, from LA, leased to the Chicago label) should be a big record someday.
