I've been asked to do an hour spot at a local soul night at the beginning of December. (it'll be my first DJin' in yeeears) Thing is its very much a 60s and RnB crowd but the organisers want something of a 70s hour. I've spent the weekend putting a playlist together but I'm open to suggestions...

Jim,

Be best if you give us an idea of what you've got available to play, I'm sure then you'll get lot's of responses of what to and what not to play

The thing is, most of the sounds I've got are later 70s - early 80s stuff like J. Blackfoot, .O.T. Sykes, Z.Z. & Co (I can give you a more comprehensive list if you want) The question is if I should throw caution to the wind and start the way I mean to go on with these or...ease them in. If I should ease them in then I need to invest.

I've got one or two bits that might work like Eddie Parker and Eula Cooper but otherwise its a bit thin on the ground...I don't have much in the way of crossover material at all. Like I said though, this is traditionally a more 60s crowd so i could be in trouble here

Am I gonna be popular or what! :wicked:

Good luck, and I really mean it. From what you say above I get the impression that the organisers are putting you in a difficult position. Hope it goes well.
