Guest FreeJimmy
Hi Everyone From Carla, Jimmy's Hompage November 27, 2005 [please overlook errors page being edited] "We ask that any Clergy visiting our site offer their blessings to our cause, trusting that He, through His Children's work, will bring a halt to this "meanness". The Free Jimmy Gresham Foundation is in The Face of Pharaoh .... "Let My People Go!" by Bob Sexton/ Northwest Florida Rep/ white republican/ McCain class. Jimmy's GuestBook Please Sign/ We forward them to him. In his last letter to us, he, after reading them wrote these words. "I'm beginning to feel human again." James H. Gresham has been, since 1993, serving a sentence of 30 years, no parole, in a United States of America Federal prison, he just turned 71. Below are the events leading to his unjust incarceration. The Free Jimmy Gresham Foundation hear by alleges that FEMA [ Federal Emergency Management Agency ] through it's failed effort to help out in an immigration crisis, knowing or not, is the guilty party in the following events we will list below. Not James H. Gresham. FEMA should NOW be held accountable for their inept handling of the Mariel Boat Lift incident. This should also serve as a warning to other "poor" communities across America to be vigilant in watching FEMA handle the many current disasters it is now faced with. In their attempts to relocate misplaced persons know up front that they will not be placed neighborhoods of the "well to do", or even the solid middle class neighborhoods, such as those of Mr. Beard, the US Attorney and point man in this "southern lynching". They will be pawned off on the people least able to handle a crisis of this magnitude, the other America, "Poor America" /// The Foundation is calling for the immediate release of Former Decorated Korean War US Navy Veteran / First Time Offender / non-violent/ Famous Soul Singer with 14 BMI hits in the 60's, Mr. James H. Gresham, and reparations to be made to him, for the "torment" inflicted on him by the US Government "We the People". Preface: In 1980 Fidel Castro allowed 125,000 Cuban political refugees to leave Cuba and go to Miami Florida, in what is now termed the infamous "Mariel Boat Lift". These refugees became known as "Marielitos". The lift lasted from May through September 1980. President Carter hailed it as a "new era" for America and Cuba.--- It was abruptly halted in September of 1980 when it was determined that Castro had placed among these true refugees, 25,000 of his most hardened criminals, his insane, and other "undesirables in general. Some claim that among them was 3000 trained narco-terrorist sent here to destroy American communities through the use of "cocaine", think about it, when did the "crack epidemic start in the "poor neighborhoods in America? e.g. The Lovejoy Rd. community in Ft. Walton Bch. Florida. What was a "laid back", law abiding "poorer", haven for the "black" American Citizens of Ft. Walton. A community where children could play in safety was turned into a "battle zone", where even local police were afraid to go down in, I, Bobby M. Sexton, did myself witness this destruction first hand, it's ferocity was equal to that of "Hurricane Katrina". However, the devastating wind from FEMA's ineptness has not yet subsided, it still continues to destroy 25 years later. This was in a large part due to a failed program of FEMA to integrate the "marielitos" into American Society, not to the rich or even middle class neighborhoods of Okaloosa County, but in the "poorest", communities, the ones who were least equipped to handle the "narco terrorist" among them. And were eventually blamed for the destruction of their own neighborhood. - Some scientist hold that "gays" planted among them were the first influx of "HIV" to American shores. Statistics now show that 14,000 of these have been imprisoned for felonies, including over 134 homicides. --After it was discovered the US Government tried to weed out the criminal element among them and return them to Castro, but he wouldn't take them back. Their arrival point in America was Miami, Florida. At first they were welcomed with open arms, but soon it became apparent that something was wrong. The criminal element among them began to destroy the community of "Little Havana", a peaceful, vibrant community of former Cuban refugees. One must remember that Cuban refugees have added an immense value to American culture, one of my best friends is a Cuban refugee. These "plants" of Castro did severe damage to their status in American politics. The 1983 movie "Scarface" is a good depiction of the "lift" and the disgust that the Cuban American Community rightly felt at that time, to see there "Little Havana", suffer at the hands of the "Marielitos". The whole affair is still alive and well here in 2005 e.g. Jimmy's incarceration. The upstanding "Marielitos"100,000 strong have often received the blows to their character for the behavior of the criminals among them, and continue to impair their efforts in trying to be fully accepted into American Society. For them The Free Jimmy Gresham Foundation "feels their pain", and salutes their efforts. However, as for the "marielitos", our sentiments are entirely different". The Foundation, for it's part, will hence forth "try" when referring to the two different groups, use "Marielitos", upper case, when the term is used to describe the Cubans who are my fellow Citizens and love Our America as much as we do, and "marielitos", lower case to when referring to the social deviants/ mobsters, such as our poster child for the crime and destruction brought to our shores by Fidel Castro: Luis Roberto Marbot. It should be apparent by now how clever Castro was in his importation scheme, the mere fact that it's extremely difficult to discuss the issue with out confusing the reader or attacking the wrong group. Maybe you can see why the "suffering" continues. The Story. In 1980 Jimmy was working just outside of Eglin AFB Florida. Here is the "smoking gun" proof positive for what the US Government Did.... Quote from that article.//// " .Mariel boatlifts / Marielitos In 1980, Fidel Castro released about 125,000 people from Cuban prisons and mental hospitals, beginning the Mariel boatlifts, which brought a different population to America. The U.S. responded by processing them at Eglin Air Force Base (Florida), where several riots broke out and federal troops were called in. Much of this population ended up either deported or imprisoned (for crimes or for what the Bureau of Prisons calls "temporary detention"), but many were released into the community, boosting local unemployment rates from 5 to 13 percent. The Marielitos were different from the earlier wave of Cuban refugees. The majority of the Marielitos were single, black adult males with a criminal background." ////////// Eglin was one of the sites allocated by FEMA to set up camps at. About 12,500 "Marielitos", came through the Eglin camp.] There had already been riots at the camp, the problem being that the "marielitos" were preying on the "Marielitos". Theft of shoes, clothing, rapes, etc. FEMA used high school students as interpreters for the camp. The soldiers guarding the camp didn't speak Spanish, and needed assistance to try to sort out the problems at the camp. The students also helped the "Marielitos", fill out the paperwork needed to process the refugees. During this period there was an intensive effort to get these people integrated into American Society. It should be noted here that never before in American History had a population of immigrants consisted of so many young single males. FEMA through some of it's efforts carried a young "marielito" to Jimmy's place of work to meet him. They met, Marbot told Jimmy that a few of his fellow friends at the that I never went back camp were musicians, and that they all needed jobs to get them out. Jimmy went out to the camp, and wound up with 6 or 7 of these "marielitos", going home with him. Jimmy got them jobs/ and the musicians among them played with Jimmy's band on the side. It sounded like a great arrangement, but what seemed fine at the time, was in reality the beginning of the destruction of the Lovejoy Rd. community, and the first step in the undoing of Jimmy Gresham and Family. / Soon after Marbot and Company were established in the neighborhood they began to import cocaine into this poor and black neighborhood, and managed to get a significant number of the local residents hooked on "crack". Does anybody out there remember when the "crack epidemic" started in America? Surely the US Government couldn't be involved in that in anyway whatsoever, it was simply the "poor bastards", in these no-count neighborhoods, just doing themselves in. Why don't they listen to Nancy Reagan and "just say no". We all say NO out hear in "UpperClassVille", we just ask our doctors for what we need/want", and then get our health insurance companies to pay Big-Drug for it. Why don't they do the same? / Jimmy's home ended up looking like a "Terrorist Training Camp" filled to the brim with very scary people/ I witnessed this myself one time. I was so afraid that when I got out of this once peaceful neighborhood I never went back. I left Willie Gresham/ Jimmy's brother and my dear friend crying in the parking lot of a KFC right outside of the community. As he, a grown man, stood outside of my car weeping like a "heartbroken child", I ask him "Willie, why are you crying? He replied, "because I know that you'll will never come to see me again." He was right, I never did see him again. He died in 1998, and the vengeful US Attorney / Mr. Beard, although no one else in the system objected, refused to let Jimmy attend Willie's funeral, the same " torment" was exercised again when Jimmy's Mother died. Forgive them they know not what they do. The Specifics We Reject the Judgement of Mr. James H. Gresham, and respectfully ask the US Government to Correct the INJUSTICE done to this loyal American. 1. The Government started a "conspiracy to distribute" case against Luis Roberto Marbot [marielito] . Him as no. 1, with 6 others, seven in all ......Mr. Gresham was not in that case. They got one of Marbot's gang to turn "snitch" on the others. He was free to come and go at Mr. Greshams home. Like they all were. Often staying there. 2. They raided Jimmy's home and out of all their men in the raid the case officer said he found some "drugs." He didn't testify in court. 3. They arrested Mr. Gresham, after all it was his home. They ask him to testify against the whole Marbot gang or they'd bust him for "dealing". 4. Jimmy kind of knew what was going on at his home, but he also suspected that Marbot might be armed, and knew for sure that he had a temper. He was afraid for his family and confused, and was not "totally" innocent in the matter/he did use "cocaine"..So he said " No." 5. The Feds took him to court, and my 58 year old, and first time offender, Jimmy Gresham got ten years. The trial was awful, Mr. Gresham didn't even get to call the officer who found the drugs, what they were, or the quaintly was not even stated. Mr Gresham would have easily defeated it on appeal. 6. The Government [We the People] , went to plan B. Evidently they didn't want to use their snitch, but now they would have to. Jimmy Gresham was history. Forget him, he got what he deserved. And maybe he did? But without a fair trial in front of a jury of his peers. How can they be so sure of that? 7. They arrested Marbot and gang. Keep in mind [Castro's boys] Jimmy feeling much safer now appealed his case. 8. When the DA, heard of that. The government threw out Mr. Greshams conviction, and now inserted him in the Marbot case as No. 8 . They said it "superceded" his case. 9. They went to trial. In the opening rounds they revealed their "snitch". Marbot and company knowing they were done for, ran for deals. They all got one. And they're all out of the pen now. Marbot, with 3 hand gun felony counts in the indictment. Got 7 years, the rest around 5 years. 10. They wouldn't give Mr. Gresham a deal. In vengeful revenge the DA had tied Jimmy in with Marbot. Had tied him in with no.7 also, a local black man named Terry Gilchrist, that Jimmy said he hardly knew, and a firearms charge, because in the original raid they found a shotgun in Jimmy's bedroom.. 11. The jury found them all guilty, except the jury found Mr. Gresham not guilty on the firearms charge. Southern homes all have them. 12. And this is hard for me to type, because, when I tell it..I shake inside to think that the people that are in high places and entrusted to look out for us could do this to my friend, or any other American , and then sleep at night. I wonder how insensitive and unjust our land has become. Before I continue we wish to commend the Government [We the People], Elliot Ness, and the like. They had their sights set on the right man.[Marbot] He was dangerous, a basic Castro terrorist, and we admire them taking on such a bad man. But, this is the end result of their action. 13.... James H. Gresham, a decorated Korean War Veteran, and winner of the China Service Medal, first time offender, and one of most gentle people I have ever known, at 58 years old and 3 grandchildren, married to his 1st wife for 38 years, cornerstone of his entire extended family. Got told to him by Judge Roger Vinson, Northern Court of Florida. ,,The jury has found you guilty. Mandatory guide lines say for 2 counts of conspiracy, and firearms time. Oh yes, even when found innocent you can still get the time, check it out 5.2 years in his case. The Judge said 30 years, no parole. Former Seaman James Gresham, is in his 13th year at a federal penitentiary in Florida, a 70 year old black man, who's filed every paper you can file pro se, because he is broke. He's never had a court to even here is case. Is due out in 2023 will be 88 years old. 14. We started a website The Free Jimmy Gresham Foundation. To try to get him some relief. Details and documents are there. So dear reader, you can say like everybody else. That's tough. Or go to the website. SaleOmatic.com "Selling Justice and Mercy" and read about him, and do what you can, maybe a good placed article could start it off. Tie in the Castro Strike with the "crack" epidemic, Use Mr. Gresham as the example. Not to make you more famous, not to even get him out jail, just to get him a fair hearing. The only recourse that he has now ------- [pro se] oh yes, he's had to do all of this on his own, even his appeal to the Atlanta Federal Court, which was ruled untimely. [That's late.] ------ is to go back to the court of Judge Roger Vinson. Jimmy has filed motion after motion, the Judge has denied all of them. The last one denied by Judge Vinson's Court, [ without his knowledge] his office never bothered to inform Mr. Gresham that it was denied. May 24, 2005. It ask the judge to amend his sentence or at least provide him information on how they came up with it in the first place. We found out and told him. We're waiting to see if they ever tell this 71 year old frail black man. We obtained the information on that and all the other things he's tried, at Pacer. It's funny, they misspelled the word "sentencing" 2x in their little speech. Hey anyone can mispeelllllllll ...You know rush through a procedure and maybe not pay attention to the details as they should have. But when others are as "sloppy"-- as the US Government [We the People] has been with their treatment of Mr. Gresham, from the start. -----No one goes to jail for thirty years.----What we believe should happen now. He's 71 years old, so the word now is highlighted here. We believe that he should receive a fair hearing in the court of The Honorable Judge Roger Vinson or a jury of his peers. And be given at the bare minimum, a "supervised release". One of our associates who knows about these matters, said that these do occur when events warrant. It would also save the US Government [We the People] the $80,000 or so a year, it is now paying to lock up geriatric inmates. ................................................................................ ................................................................................ .......................................................................... [Jimmy had nothing to do with this case ... check out down a few rows. He was thrown in because he was afraid to testify against No. One, a young Latin male, sent to America by Castro. Jimmy feared for his family's safety. Also check out who Jimmy's lawyer is, against the might of the Federal Government. And see where Jimmy's last appeal was turned down so fast. They did it, as fast as you could eat a slice of Castro pie. trouble is they didn't bother telling him. He sat in that prison for a full 3 months, with no word from the court. So he took it as a good sign. It wasn't until the Free Jimmy Gresham Foundation informed him of it. We're waiting to see if they ever bother to inform him. Notice how accurate they are over there the word "sentencing" is misspelled several times. Hey, I misspell too, but when I'm sloppy, no one goes to jail for 30 years... You can go download it from Pacer, better hurry before they read this and correct it...We have a contest going on the first to find it and emails us wins! Prize to be announced . Text of Case Here.
