Guest Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Cannonball "You Keep Telling Me Yes" was released on at least three different labels: Shadow, Reflection and Blast, and I am pretty sure that it was also released on a fourth label. I just don't remember which one. Does anyone know which is the first issue? I made a post about this record a few years ago, but I didn't really get suffient information, so I thought I would try again.
davidwapples Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 the shadow or blast one has a different artist on the flip , bob collins i think but dont have the records in front of me to see , i think the blast one is the first of the 2 pressings the reflection one states its a 1980 (P) so presume its a later version or recording
Guest Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Yes, you're right. The one on Shadow has Bob Collins "If I Didn't Have a Dime" on the flip, and the one on Blast has Cannonball "Keep On Smilin'" on the flip. So the one on Blast is probably the first one. However, I am pretty sure that this was also released on one more label. Does anyone have any info on that?

Guest Gogs Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 (edited) according to jm's 5th guide bob collins and the fabulous five "If I Didn't Have a Dime" came out on the "jokers three" label BUT unfortunately it doesn't tell you what year. It only lists cannonball on shadow and reflection labels. Edited January 22, 2012 by Gogs
Goldsoul Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Blast is the original label. Extensively played on Radio throughout the 70's In the Carolina's, but still hard to find. Maybe it sits in many a Beach music collection in that area. Made hugely popular in the early 80's as a key revival song by Radio DJ John Hook via WBT out of Charlotte.
