I think its disco origins place it outside the rare-soul umbrella. Same as West End releases (Al McCall, Julius Brown) although played Modern Soul in the 80s is now out of vogue IMO. Yep, for sure. I have a listing from when Sanctuary controlled the catalogue and that threw up a few surprises. I've always loved Stang/Turbo releases.All New Jersey ghetto recordings and I think many of these releases have yet to find their audience. Universal took it over when they bought Sanctuary so I'm not optimistic about seeing any future deep catalogue releases.
