Andy Rix Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 I store all the sleeves for 6 months or so in the garage, intend to do something with them, realise I never will, then I throw them all away. I did give a few hundred away a few years back but something happened to put me off doing it again, can't remember what, they either didn't send me the postage or something. So now I just chuck them all away, even the British which I collect - the records I mean. I'll send you the postage now Pete as advanced payment That's a serious proposal Andy

Soulman Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Both would be good .. I have a pile of Uk Pop that need sleeves as well as USA stuff You're a gent Best Andy Hi Andy, Need to find them but I got a boat load of sleeves from John at the Bowl and to be honest, as I'm selling pretty much all the stuff, I'll never use them. Got shed loads of Motown (Red, Blue, VIP, Gordy, White ,Sound Of..., Black Penny Farthing, Yellow Penny Farthing, Red Deck, and there's a couple of strange Tamla ones too). Also got quite a number of UK things. CBS sleeves, Virgin, Ensign. What are you looking for coz you can have them when I find them. Best Steve
boba Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 my fave this brings up another issue with the sleeves. The tangerine one is nice because it's thick glossy paper. Usually when you get a record in the original company sleeve (which was printed on super thing paper), the sleeve is split and it's not a very effective way to hold the record. I'll usually throw it out and replace it with a heavy gold sleeve.

John Reed Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Here's another Tangerine one, not as sexy as the picture sleeve.
Derek Pearson Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 Time to bang up some more as they say in Scunthorpe derek x
Derek Pearson Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 Fraternity only printed on one side. derek x
Derek Pearson Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 Put your sun glasses on for these two Summer is on the way derek x
Derek Pearson Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 Don't often see this one - because of the labels distribution with Warner Brothers I assume this sleeve came with the later releases on Loma. derek x
Derek Pearson Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 First done by The Del-Royals on Mercury in October 1969 then 10 years later Tyrone Barkley's version caused much excitement across dancefloors in the north of england and beyond. Seem to think Lou Rawls had a go at the song on Capitol - he might have even done it first - but haven't heard it or know where it fits in the timeline of releases. Before you die you need to hear The Del-Royals superb rendition. derek x
Derek Pearson Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 Rarely find this UK sleeve derek x
Derek Pearson Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 Such a pretty sleeve that makes me think of sunny days on the beach derek x Watching/listening to the film "The Thin Red Line" as I type.
boba Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I got a george semper rhythm committee in a rama rama label sleeve that was pretty nice. Derek, I got the sleeve you sent me, thanks so much! I will make you a CD to send back to you.
Derek Pearson Posted March 21, 2012 Author Posted March 21, 2012 Just found a couple more sleeves I'd scanned but not uploaded. Don't think I've seen one of these Power Exchange sleeves before, certainly never had one before. Shame somebody's taken a bite out of the corner. Gene Faith will look good with this wrapped 'round him. derek
Guest SteveJohnston Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 One you don't see to oftern! SKMBT_C25312062814140.pdf

Paul McKay Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I think all of my Power Exchange 45s have the cover........up until the label design changed anyway.
