I'm delighted to have been invited to play my favourite soul records on Solar Radio's "Soul People" show, next sunday between 10 - 12 o'clock. Most of you know, that I am from germany and even if you won't like my choices, you should tune in for a good laugh, as this will probably the show with the worst english ever broadcasted in shakespeare's own country.

I'm playing some 70's funky stuff and a few favourite 70's soulful sides, Kenny Mac asked to keep it rare and underplayed and I tried my best to dig a bit deeper in my vaults.

Looking forward to this Lars, a man with immense taste and one of the few people that could follow Mr Steele well.

And trust me, your English is better than 95% of English people I have met!!

Have a good one.

Thoroughly enjoyed (yet again ) the excellent 'Soul People', Lars played some great tunes, always plenty i don't know and enjoy, good funk edged numbers, , Lars is a friend and i have had the pleasure to play in Germany at the same events on occasions and i've seen him play in the UK, a great fella' with a very broad and excellent taste, well done Lars.

Belated thanks for last week Lars (I always forget to check the Soul Source' link for 'Soul People') Definitely made my wants list a tad longer  Cheers Steve

And throughout sourcing and research during this last week Steve, short pockets and long wanted lists are the order of the day as always, it's forever a common practise  .

Did the I - Twenty "Dreaming" do any reactivating therapy with you and other folks relating to that 80's period, sounds better now !! than back then  .

What's the Karvin Johnson on Marshall - If You Let Me ? New to me or is this a well established mainland sound ?

Nothing to do with Kevin Johnson on Family Star?

Thanks in advance.

Nick, Karvin Johnson is the singer of Halo, the band who did "Let Me Do It" on Marshall or Dyco, I have no clue if this one is an established sound somewhere, I doubt it, as most people will hate the King-Moses-like rock guiar solo. Soul Sam told me, that he played the I-20 Connection in the 80's, the group is from Georgia and they released at least one more 45, that also had some plays back then. Hope this helps... best, Lars
