Weingarden
Wow wow wow! I recently flipped over Herb Johnson "I'm So Glad" and the Four Perfections "I'm Not Strong Enough" for the first time and played them at my DJ night out of curiosity...Now I may never flip 'em back! What else should I flip over?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArEM3pfFk7A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsDw-Cx3huY&feature=related 2 Link to comment Social source share

Premium Stuff
Hey Matt - great idea for a thread Here's one. Flip over the Northern side - Nelson Sanders - Mojo Man (Rambler) You get - I'm Lonely (which was the official A-Side) I once wrote this about the song which tells you something about how I feel about it ... Rambler was part of Lou Beatty's La Beat set-up, and for me this is the most gut-wrenching soulful vocal performance ever committed to vinyl - deep, deep soul. The genius of this recording lies in the combination of the emotionally raw vocal, with the powerful simplicity of the lyrics. Blows me away every time! And if you like up-tempo stomping Detroit - just flip it over for 'Mojo Man'. Cheers Richard https://soundcloud.com/user1502162/nelson-sanders-im-lonely Edited January 13, 2012 by Premium Stuff 2 Link to comment Social source share

Garethx
Until the youtube era I'd never heard Ray Paige's "Don't Stop Now" on RCA, the other side of his version of Ain't No Soul. I'd never have thought of buying that, but the ballad side is immense. He later re-cut it in a more latin style on Fania under his (presumably) real name, Rafi Pagan. On a more recent in-demander I was very impressed by the ballad side of Double O's Demingoes "Color One Tear Black". I think the uptempo version of the same track wears pretty quickly but the slow version is a real mind-blower. Link to comment Social source share

Rbman
I noticed in the Wants Section very recently that someone was asking for a one sided demo of The Volcanos "Storm Warning" ....that would deprive the owner of hearing "Baby" on the flip of the issue which I love. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0v4I5NjTdk Edited January 14, 2012 by Rbman Link to comment Social source share
