I was pleasde to pick this up in a trade over Xmas and seem to remeber having it in the 8ts, when I sposse it was what you might call a tape swoppers fave but can anyone tell me more about the disc, artist or most importantly when and where it was played, a stafford sound? Gary Rushbrook perhaps?

Was definitely played at Stafford, not sure who by though

Also came out on Ambassador as "I Dig You" just credited to Gene Anderson This release seems to book for a lot more. But the Royal-Tone issue is far better quality, the Ambassador one is quite muffled imo.

Great record - Yep, defo a 'Tape Swappers' fave - That's how I came across it as missed the era when it would have been 'played out'

All the best,

Len.

The red Royal Tone has "Whats wrong with you girl" as the flip which is a great leftfield almost funk # with a wigged-out organ, very different to the a-side!

bit of the phsycedelic influence showing there, its credidted to Gene anderson and the Dynamic phsycedelics on the Royal tone issue too, though I cant imagine there being much of a 'heads scene' in st louis, mid 6ts, maybe wrong though.

yes, a mid 7ts play; I remember asking John Anderson for it on a few occasions, but always out of stock. Eventually getting a copy around 78. Im sure Rod gave me a signed copy, that he got from Gene Anderson himself, some years later? Cheers Rod!

I did get some copies from that Midwest Distributors in St Louis where Gene worked and did get them tastefully autographed for a few mates. You must be one of them then.

Did I give it away free? The idea was a cunning sales ploy. How could you refuse when it had your name on it!
