Man you buy a lot of new music! I wonder how much music you bought that didn't make the list. How do you even find out about the music, like is it music that people talk about on the modern soul message board? Or do you buy from certain labels or producers, etc.? is there some specific site that you can download music from all in the same style?

Lots of people that I interview on my radio show put out modern music that sounds like this. I assume the CDs just sit in their basement. It would be cool if you could give me some tips on what to tell them to distribute their new music. Some of them manage to get their music played in the local steppers scene by getting their stuff to steppers DJs but that's pretty much it I think.

For new music recommendations and a place for new music artists to post to let people know about their releases, then EMS is probably the best place. Not sure if It's right to include a link to another forum, but just google "Essential Modern Soul" and you'll find it at the top of the results list.

I don't see why not, They're not competing with Soul Source and some people enjoy both. Come and join us Bob!

To answer your earlier question, CD Baby is a good vehicl for independant artists to get their material out there

I actually registered with EMS once but I never really did anything. Will check it out again.

Everyone is on CDBaby. The problem is there's a huge amount of material, do modern soul dudes actually wade through it all to dig up material? Otherwise it's not much different than the artist just selling it (although it does give a more convenient way for people to buy stuff).
