Modernsoulsucks Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I cannot add a lot to this thread, apart from at wigan, hovis, hung around the stage at wigan, right hand side, facing stage, and when I knew him, indeed was very good aquaintance, with Alan Rhodes. Hovis was responsible, for nightwatch-lips to your heart. Actually if you're looking for someone to blame for Nightwatch it's me. Sold it to Richard along with Peter Jarrett [MGM] and Reperata "It's waiting there for you". That pop thing was happening. ROD
Guest GARV Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I remember Hovis , one night in the Casino bar we were talking & both blocked of our faces he asked me what i did for a living. I told him i worked for a glazing company that made & installed double glazing & patio doors. He told me he worked for Adshead & Ratclife & did we use their sealants , i said yes we do......... " i can get you as much as your company needs & we will come to an arrangement" . The next week in the Casino bar he come`s over a bit sheepish & said ..........look about last week, i was err......... i just laughed me head off ..... Garv.
Pete S Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 John Drevars Expression were a 60's band from Southampton (slightly moddy) and well known to everyone there. Pretty sure Shay ( who I believe was from down that way) played it at Yate in '76 or '77 and was the first to play it. It was his big tune (sound) at the time. Happy to be proved wrong, but credit where it's due I'll rephrase that to 'he introduced it to The Casino' then. I knew they were from Southampton though, once did an article on them for some magazine or other, think they had one more single, on Polydor.
Pete S Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 That pop thing was happening. Because of you!!!

Modernsoulsucks Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 It's known as having your finger on the pulse. Not all my fault if the patient was dead at the time. ROD

Greety Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Did'nt Hovis discover Pinkooshin "Make it easy" on Mercury?
