hullsoul Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Plenty of class tunes - but here are a couple I've picked up lately: And one of my all time faves (had this about ten years now): Joe "Uphill" is one of the few records that sounds better with a few crackles here & there One of the great records by one of the great artists. Cheers Martyn

John Moffatt Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 (edited) Could go on for ever. One of the finest vocalists there's ever been. Passed away far too soon. How about "That's What Mama Say" & "They Don't Give Medals...": Edited January 10, 2012 by John Moffatt

Mike Lofthouse Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 My long time favourite of his....his 'other' Brunswick release....... 1
Sean Hampsey Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 There are many great tracks by Walter Jackson. This is definitely up there! Sean 1
Sean Hampsey Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 This also, is a monumental slice of SOUL from Walter. Sean PS: I need a clean replacement copy of this if anyone would like to sell me one :0)
Dean Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Aware we've moved on but not been with my boxes for a couple of week. Really only echoing Sean in so much as this is the other side to Not You (which is the A?). I adore this ballad:
Mick Sway Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 (edited) There was no better artist than Walter to extract the pathos and hit that note of sentimentaly in a lyric, which turns a great singer into a legend, a soul singer. This ballad is tops to me, didn't know that it was released as a Chi-sound 45 until just, though its best heard on the "good to see you" album: Walter Jackson "we could fly" , Carl Davis produced, Riley Hampton arranged: Superb!!
