Guest saddler Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Just been playing through my motown box and came across All i do Stevie Wonder one of those records that whenever i hear it i think i need to get a copy when its been sat there for god knows how long .Got me thinking what have other people stumbled across when going through there collections.

Codfromderby Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Just been playing through my motown box and came across All i do Stevie Wonder one of those records that whenever i hear it i think i need to get a copy when its been sat there for god knows how long .Got me thinking what have other people stumbled across when going through there collections. when i first heard tammi terrell all i do some one told me there was a version by stevie wonder, never heard that i thought must get myself one, yes youve guessed it had it for ages and never played it, never mind realising it was the same song. also got a cd years ago with a track on it by the "blackbyrds" called "blackbird", could i fook find it until i looked at an album i had by the manhattans and low and behold there it was which was really silly as i regularly played another rack of the same album without realising
boba Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 If you collect labels it's pretty common to not know exactly what records you don't have in the label run (especially if a lot of the records are crappy random titles). On ebay I watch items that look unfamiliar, then go to my shelf to check, and it's usually there but sometimes not. Sometimes if the record is cheap (like a dollar or two) and I'm feeling lazy I'll just bid without checking whether I have it or not.

Far too many "saddler".......moreover, when I find out I've already got a copy, (albeit that habit is more refined to the cheaper end items.....up to now)
Mark B Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 spent a couple of years looking for a copy of the summits i'll never say no (about 6 or 7 years ago) then gave up while looking though my records for one i had sold i found a copy well chuffed saved me a couple of hundred pounds, have no idea where i bought it.

Guest allnightandy Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 (edited) I have posted this before , back in the wigan days i collected Okeh Mirwood and RicTic demo's my collection went in the loft for 30 years with only the occasional dusting off .When the internet came along and you could then see the changes in musical taste i found many of the records i bought played ,didn't like and boxed are now very popular Tangeers , Seven Souls , Cheers , Walter Jackson (who i always loved ) and many others have all come to the fore ! I have no idea where all these copies are coming from. Are they all from one person who found a big cache of them (e.g. that brooklynsoul dude) or are they coming from multiple places?
