Pete S Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Well it looks gorgeous - and authentic - but I don't think it is, what's the chances of having all those classic Northern tracks together on an acetate like that, the release numbers are miles apart, the producers are mostly different. Maybe when Kent reissued these tracks someone assembled an acetate...except they didn't reissue Chubby & Turnpikes did they? A real mystery disc that one.
Keithw Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 was what i thought - unless it was done by Capitol to promote an LP release ?
Guest MrC Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 The Capitol album of their popular northern tracks didn't have all those records on it. That acetate does look fantastic though.
Guest Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Nice one Keith If you were putting together a Capitol assortment all those tracks would be right up there!

Several of them were very low on the radar when that came out in 78. But Kent did release all of them I think (except Turnpikes) in the mid 80's
pikeys dog Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Dodgy custom job with Capitol labels stuck on IMO. Not enough tracks on for it to be a test pressing for an LP.
Keithw Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 well its for sale or trade if anyone wants to offer stuff / money not in a rush to get rid - but know what it owes me FIRE AWAY GUYS - WILL KEEP IT TILL SOMEONE TEMPTS ME ENOUGH
Guest MrC Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 The labels do look as though they've been cut out by hand, you can see pen marks round the edges that look like they were drawn, then cut along. But they are all Capitol tracks, and it seems like a fair bit of trouble to go to. What's the actual release dates for the individual records? I take it they're all before October 69!
Keithw Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 IF it was a knock up - its a very good typist all the detail is very good - times of tracks - writers credits - etc
Pete S Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 IF it was a knock up - its a very good typist all the detail is very good - times of tracks - writers credits - etc But all available on the labels of the 45's!
