Martyn Pitt
Barabas - Check Mate - Black Cat records 1976 / 1977? I think from memory. I have a copy deep in my vaults, came across from the USA on the Jazz Funk wave in the mid seventies. Martyn Link to comment Social source share

Guest
well done martin listen to the tune most notably the overt sound of the clavernet, suading away over real hand claps it had a uniquike kind of feel to it, way before rolls royce had double hand claps in car wash it was a dark tune with a evervesent bruce lee power in it... as to pound ones feet away to the 7 inch single why was this tune so uniquike in the foundations of the thang that is wat u must ask Link to comment Social source share

Guest vinylvixen
If Carl Mackintosh did use it on 'Hanging on a string', the sample source was never creditted.....maybe you mean he 'reinterpretted' the original tune and used it as part of his composition - therefore avoiding the sampling/ licensing fee Jowell done stomper u are thee man PASSES STOMP A FUNK MEDAL i even posted my new box with out reading your post i thought black cat must be a retro label stomper i was there when that tune hit the floors it was a kind of dark tune always associted to the best dancers and years later carl mackintosh used it on the out bars on his monster hit with loose ends" hangin on a string" its the same kind of clavernt break " you ba you bar da you bar do bar da " Link to comment Social source share

Guest Dan
I've just got off the phone to my man at the CIA. He reckons Del is probably some sort of virtual-reality programme designed by the Soviets to inflitrate the soul scene. Like Hal in 2001: A Space Odyssey, only different. And not quite as intelligible. The word from the spooks is Del might be about to try a takeover so be on your guard. Link to comment Social source share
