:PI WAS SUPRISED U GUYS NEVER FOUND THAT SOUL TUNE

barabas and check mate

i can base the whole story on a tune u never herd

all those dee jays that are connected to it and u never found the flavour man

appart from thinking i was a linole blair which was a bit unfair ,we have to start with this tune

i will try to explain wat it meant in the birth of the above said movement ,it might take months to explain

i am a slow talker

dont think any one elese here knows it

unless its criss hill gerg edwards of vincent on the other screne man, or any other midwife so to speak

is a fasinating look at the birth of back in the day

better than meeeting phat boy slimm or any other vinil vampire

u might find it to be the most iintreging story in the world

well done martin

listen to the tune most notably the overt sound of the clavernet, suading away over real hand claps

it had a uniquike kind of feel to it, way before rolls royce had double hand claps in car wash

it was a dark tune with a evervesent bruce lee power in it... as to pound ones feet away to the 7 inch single

why was this tune so uniquike in the foundations of the thang

that is wat u must ask

Hi Del,

Without being rude can i ask you to try and post with more consideration for the reader?

i am sure you have some interesting things to say but most of it is going over our heads.

it is all becoming a little like Huggy Bear in Starsky & Hutch!

thanks

Shane

Memory failure, right label colour, wrong name

Barrabas - Checkmate c/w Mellow Blow - ATCO records (yellow and white) 1975

Both sides are pretty good Jazz Funk from that period used to play them both.

Pete Smiths your man for this stuff :D

Del when was this released on your planet?

If Carl Mackintosh did use it on 'Hanging on a string', the sample source was never creditted.....maybe you mean he 'reinterpretted' the original tune and used it as part of his composition - therefore avoiding the sampling/ licensing fee  Jo

I've just got off the phone to my man at the CIA. He reckons Del is probably some sort of virtual-reality programme designed by the Soviets to inflitrate the soul scene. Like Hal in 2001: A Space Odyssey, only different. And not quite as intelligible. The word from the spooks is Del might be about to try a takeover so be on your guard.

Del,

Just reading your first post again, why did you assume / think that no one else here would know the tune?

Any others that you want to throw in that we may not know.
