Aah, Barry Bigeyes. Now THERE was a character! Ian and Laney? I knew them both well. Actually ran into them both again several times in the 90s at Blackburn 'Niters. If you bump into either of 'em, give them my very best regards. Good people.

(Joey from Oldham).

Ian&Laney don't see them much these days as are no longer on the  scene but can contact them and will give them your best regards. All the best Fred

Yeah, that was Malcolm. Long straight hair, usually a white t-shirt, bouncing up and down thrusting his arms in the air. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, he was like a Cat9 hurricane. People used to call him "Mad Malcolm", and very few would speak to him. Thing was, when you did get to know him, he was one of the nicest blokes you could ever wish to meet. Lovely guy.

I was always worried for him as I didn't want him to do himself internal damage like  detaching his internal organs with him jumping up and down non stop and when he landed it always seemed hard. Lol.I also spoke to him a number of times and yes he was a really nice guy.

Ha, yeah, its a wonder he never did himself any damage. Even more surprising is that he never killed anyone else within twenty feet of him! I swear he was the inspiration for the Punk pogo dancers a few years later. Wonder whatever happened to him. A gentle giant, so hopefully he had a great life.

Thanks Fred, that's absolutely wonderful. Hopefully they'll sign up, as like you say, they'll know so many people on the forum.

Did you ever go to the Leeds Central Soul club? I was one of the resident dj's there from 1978 till 1980 and it reopened in 2011 again as a Sunday all dayer  every two months and I'm one of the resident Dj's. Its brilliant with all the "soulies " getting back together.                  Regards Fred.

I went to the Central once or twice in 73. In 74 I even did a spot there one evening. It was dead, about three people in! Haven't been back since. Plenty of the Yorkies used to come across to the Pendulum and Magnet. The Leeds crowd, including Caesar, and several from Halifax. I'll try to find a pic or two for you.
