Sleeps45 Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 very indemand with sweet soul collectors, I bet you got some PMs already. All copies have some sort of heat hazing and play with heavy crackle. do you know what caused the heat damage?
boba Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 do you know what caused the heat damage? I have no idea and I don't want to make up a story. I have seen other records before where many of them were heat damaged, probably because they were near a fire. Kevin from DCSoulrecordings said it was pressed on poor vinyl but it still should be shiny in that case, the dullness and playback sounds definitely like heat damage to me.

I had 2 copies and they both had the heat damage..the records were clean and the damage was in the sound..I wonder if the entire batch was exposed to heat or just the master disc that they were pressed from.. thanks

I did pull the 1 copy I have left and I do see what you're talking about..the ballad is really nice and sought after by the sweet soul collectors, how do the funk guys feel about that "world is a turmoil" cut? boba Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 One sold this year for $32. i would of paid $100 on top of that you probably won't get one offering $132 though.
Guest Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 you probably won't get one offering $132 though. no i know Bob, due to the quality of the pressing I would pay $200-250 for a nice one. I'm still keeping hope that one of my friends in the DC area turns one up and hooks me up for a nice trade or decent cash offer

I'm still keeping hope that one of my friends in the DC area turns one up and hooks me up for a nice trade or decent cash offer Like a couple years ago there was one on a Tim Brown list for like 30 pounds and it was listed as "EX". I don't know if it was heat damaged or not.

Guest doowop78 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I work in Landover,Md twice a.week.fir the last few years.....i have found a few copies of.this in landover.as well.as.some.gospel on.the label.....Im guessing the ultimate blacks might be a D.C group as Landover is right outside of D.C
Pete S Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Just resurrecting this because I have a copy of this and I might be slightly deaf but I can't hear any sound problems on it at all. The faster side, definitely no problems, the slow side yes maybe some minute background crackle but certainly nothing like heat damage and a hell of a lot better than the copy on YouTube. Seriously. Anyone want a copy with little or no noise, do let me know!
