there has to be some skeletons in everyone's closet

With the commercialisation attempts over the years especially the era at Wigan

It seems politically incorrect for these records to see the light of day now

so which records do you not own up to liking ?

This i love because it reminds me of when they filmed "This England " yet never seems to get plays anymore

I have heard people slag it off so ?

SOD E'M

And this always reminds me of the Casino but i prefere the vocal version !

Another one, I make no apologies for this one though, Donna Summer's I Feel love, original 12", not least cos it takes me back to the Ritz all dayers, fabulous tunage, ground breaking & way ahead of it's time in it's day.

Aid.

Maybe i should be embarrassed,but no !!

I love Rain. I like Boogie Man Orchestra as well.

Rain used to sound brilliant at Wigan with all the clapping.

pete rain my wake up call so sad cheers billy

Native new yorker is fantastic . I still play it out now. Nowt wrong with disco, aslong as it's the right kind. As far as I'm concerned the caretaker are borderline disco. Brilliant stuff!

Oh and I adore rain as well. Didn't know what it was, I'd always heard it on the 'this england' doc and got Pete to identify it. One of my favourite tunes!

Caretaker = carstairs (doh)

bill brandon & lorraine johnson in this list?

tremendous record, then & now.

I still love the poppies there's a pain in my heart & he's got real love.

there, that's got that off me chest. :-9

yeh i luv the native new yorker disco mix, check it out

Got to admit I really enjoyed that, good version too, except the kazoo right at the end

only to find it's the vocal on both sides. lol

Oh and ' inside out' by odyssey is wicked, and 'going back to my roots'......wicked wicked group!

third time round soon everythings gonna be alright, remember getting my copy and wearing the grooves out

Rain sounds great even today ' but never gets played 'probably because its not rare.

Was Alan Rhodes for definite, then Russ, then everyone else, Rhodesy also first to play Colored Man

Still got one in my boxes, somewhere. :(

And another one - massive at Wigan circa 77 then slagged as 'pop music'...... shame really as I like it and would love to hear it played out again.

Again and Again by Judith Durham. Beautiful string arrangement, great vocal, love it.

Man she has a voice !

 I really like The carnival is over by the Seekers

Beautiful lady , , , wonderful person . . . voice of an angel . . .

Great taste guys!!

Picture sleeve is cool Pete.

Used to have this , belting record imho

Don't know why anyone should feel guilty for liking "Let Me Be Your Full Time Groover"!! Wigan stormer then never played anywhere else!!!

Afternoon of The Rhino - I Still Like It

yep just love it

Bill Brandon & Lorraine Johnson was massive at Cleethorpes, Peterborough and St.Ives in 1975/6.

Third Time Around, another great 70s tune, not quite sure why anyone should be embarrassed for liking it, then or now.

That's what i mean Because of the commercialisation of our scene at the time

nearly everything played at that time seems to be consigned to history !

even with all the crap , there was still a lot of good sounds in there !

Sorry, but Tim Tam is one record too far to admit liking, even a little bit.

It caused more harm than good and along with the others like it, helped kill the scene as I had known it. Of course that's only my opinion..................

native new yorker-yep ive got that too along with sylvester-do you wanna funk-aaah can you just smell that cheese???-disco cheese-like artificial cheese-to much wont do you :shhh: any good, but tastes great in the right situation

you got the power, gail winters. never hear it out but a good tune. 2 quid back in the day. as for teddy vann, i remember when i could dance to it LOL...........NOWT WRONG WITH TIM TAM TOO!

I have to say I am not embarrassed about any records I like. I think it's great that we all have our own taste and opimions on what we like and don't like. I have never shyed away from saying a tune is not for me despite who plays it me and how the majority love it. It would be a boring scene if we all had identical taste. I have however been subjected to the critical outbursts of my friends on several occasions for my minority dislikes of a record... Bloody bullies, bless em lol

Gary Lewis "my hearts symphony" even bought a copy this year on UK Liberty!

Bill Brandon & Lorraine Johnson - "Let Me Be Your Full Time Groover" is a brilliant tune and probably just right for reactivation. Must be in my top 10.

Now "9 times out of ten" is in a league of its own but still love it.
