Roburt Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Fred Kibble was lead singer with the Masters of Soul (Ovide, Capitol, Duke, etc). There's a bit about him & the group here > https://bayoucitysoul.wordpress.com/2011/04/20/from-houston-to-vietnam-with-the-masters-of-soul/ He did lots of work at Ovide; singing, writing songs, arranging tracks, etc. He must have stayed in the record biz after the group split (although I guess it wasn't his 9 to 5 job) as he was involved (mainly as a song writer) on the LP by First Love released in 1981 on HCRC. That project was put together in Houston & Fort Worth (Texas), so I guess Fred stayed quite close to home at least until the 80's.
Guest Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 Fred Kibble passed on in October 2012. I think this was his one solo outing. Here it is on You Tube although the vocal sounds slightly slow to my ears.
Bossfourpart1 Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 I did play it at my last spot at the 100 club last year, it has been a regular spin in Norwich for the past 20 + years , originally spun locally by Andy Gill (Fakenham). Fred Kibble also produced the Fantastics track - Me and You another great tune. ( Fantastics also on Copa records with - High Note ) Frank
