Geeselad Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 I can dig loads of opinions on this thread, black rca's, red and white's, mar v lus ( one der ful is tasty too) but personally I've always been a sucker for labels with photo's of the act on them, ala, maskman and the agents, and the lovelites release to name but too. I started collecting a canadian house label on this basis, loads had black and white photos of the act on em, and had to get the lot! sad man that I am. 1
nickp Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Slightly off topic but where are you getting your lable scans from ? i used to use anorak i even had it bookmarked but now it's gone , unless he has set up under another site name ? Thanks andy I just googled the label, click on images, convert the image to a jpeg, and There you go.Upload.Nick.
nickp Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 (edited) Coming from the jazz end of town, I always loved the jazz label Prestige. I'm not sure if you know the logo, but its like a crossroads sign. You know that time in your life when you think, I know, and I am going to run my own night, playing my own amazing taste in music, supported by my dj friends. = I screenprinted t shirts, flyposted and put out thousands of flyers. The icing on the cake was a 'friend' giving me a brotherly hug, telling me to keep the faith, after wrapping my banner, which I had sceenprinted myself, about 25 metres, around himself, to steal it. The night folded after about three weeks. Edited December 16, 2011 by nickp

Ian Dewhirst Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Has to be that one for me: That really is a beautiful piece of art for a tiny independent record label. It basically demonstrates that the people involved either cared enough or had plenty of money. A brilliant design. I also like Mary Jane. Ian D
Ian Dewhirst Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 plus it has penguins which is always a big positive I'm a little bit worried about you Bob. The rare record obsession makes all the sense in the world but this penguin scenario is the thing I can't get my head around...... Ian D

Guest Preems Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 i love everything about this label, the clip-art, the color scheme, the letters, to say nothing of the output & history https://youtu.be/oU_sFZWUK_g
trd Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 I was about to post Aquarius too. Here's another intricate one (even though I think they only released this 45). https://s.dsimg.com/image/R-2154126-1267025119.jpeg
Robbk Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Not in this genre of music, but I like Al Benson's Parrot Records best.
phillyDaveG Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 I just googled the label, click on images, convert the image to a jpeg, and There you go.Upload.Nick. It's easier than that. Google image - right click, then properties, copy URL. Done.
