Think Personally Lews will go for more than 500.. Haven´t been that active on ebay lately. Has it appeared there a lot ?? One of the best records ever. Both sides brilliant Out of my league atm sadly...

Can you honestly say its £500 rare even the one with the instrumental on the other side comes up a couple of times a month on ebay, and i've seen plenty for sale with the 'good good lovin' £500 quid my arse

I'll tell you summat Baz, if I had the one with All I Need Is Your Good Good Lovin on the flip I reckon I'd be asking 5/600 for it now and I bet you I would sell it. Even the cheap one with instrumnental on has been fetching $500 or there abouts (check back through ebay if you don't believe me...5 or 6 months ago $510)). So many folk ask me or Andy for this record!!

I have no doubt you could sell it for that, i've seen how much the one with the instrumental has gone for quite silly really .......i know there is the demand there, but if your were to price it on rarity only! £500 no chance IMHO

But you didn't say that...you said My Arse when someone gave an upto date valuation...implying they were off the mark Since when has rarity had owt to do with the value?

It's been £400 for some time now even before the demand there is now , put this on a list months ago and it went straight away. Another £100/£200 with the extra demand isn't such alot compared to how other discs have risen in value due to demand.

This was a regular ten pound record around the Stafford period early 80's i must have had three or four copies over the years, be they the more common vocal/inst release, i'm glad to see it's finally become a big tune, pretty much been behind this one out at the gigs since finding another copy with 'Good Lovin' flip a couple of years ago for $250.00 i think, i would suspect that there are a fair few copies of this record out there in collections so not that rare in the true sense of the word but as it's already been said here demand often over shadows how rare some of these records are.Fantastic record whatever the price.

It always makes me laugh when we talk about how rare a record is. How does anybody know?? Just because[excuse the pun] there were a few copies for sale 20 years ago, doesn't mean there's thousands of them out there. If it wasn't for the internet, nobody would see the copies for sale. And even if it isn't rare, demand obviously outstrips supply, and so the price goes up. That's life I'm afraid. If there were loads of copies about nobody would pay £500 for it. If you want something badly enough, you'll pay the price.

Another reason for these price rises, is in the 80s, ther were only a few collectors. Today rare soul collecting is massive worldwide, thousands of collectors chasing the same titles. My mate tells me stories of the scene in the 80s, very few events, attended by the same hard core. Big ticket 45s for sale at nighters, some that didn't sell for months. Go to most events now and you never see heavy weight 45s for sale. Most boxes are just the same old Pye Disco Demands, and cheap box fillers. I actually think that most of the big collectors don't actually go out anymore.

Sorry to go off on one, but I just don't know how anyone can possibly know how rare a record is, or isn't.

I've had 3 of these this Year (2 with Instrumental, 1 with "good" flip) and I don't consider it to be a particularly "rare" disc, just one that is in demand, hence the ever increasing price. "Fast Eddie's" was a Record store in Philadelphia, in the 60's, so these discs were sold over the counter to the public, and are now starting to resurface, in all sorts of conditions. I'm sure Chalky, and many others on this forum could recommend some quality Philly tunes equally as good as these, that wouldn't break the bank.

Spot on Des, It's all about demand, not true rarity value. If a record is getting hammered and there is a demand for it then the price goes up. Even if there are a few hundred copies, that's still not enough to satisfy demand.

Most miffed about Pat & the Blenders as it's a good record. It was the one with the rare b side and, wait for this... I gave it away! Second has to be the Ringleaders cos I sold it for £15 just before it went huge
