Why Is The Scene So Male Dominated?

One thing I have wondered is how come that the soul-scene is so male dominated.. the venues, record-collectors, dancers, djs.. mostly men. What's the deal with that? Or I'm all wrong?

this thread came to mind when i was dancin around the floor at bidds new years eve...at that point there was probably about 15 dancers and only 3 blokes!...it was early hours...maybe women, er.... of our age have more stamina!
