Mr Blue Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 (edited) Hello all, and thanks for looking! For your consideration is this acetate; I can not yet identify the artist or the track, although it was found here in Detroit. Any idea who or what it might be? My thought is that it is unreleased. Acetate has 5 tracks, one is clearly some other garagier sounding group; one ballad (incomplete) and one funk side have damage (a small flake missing), and play even less clearly than this. There is another female vocal 60's George Clinton-ish sounding side worth noting as well; listen below. Levels are pretty low on these tracks, and the noise is almost as loud as the music. Still, maybe the only existing examples of these sides? Lots of fine scuffs and scrapes, but lacquer is not flaking or badly worn. Offers? 'Tell It To The Wind' (J. Shaw, T. Rodgers, F. Rodgers) by an unknown vocalist- https://soundcloud.com/peoplesrecordsdetroit/unknown-northern-soul-10 Diane Lewis on Wand alt version? https://soundcloud.com/peoplesrecordsdetroit/other-side-of-that-same --------------------------------------------- Eugene Remus 'You Never Miss A Good Thing' b/w 'Gotta Have Your Lovin' (Motown) Original striped pink Motown label, and the more desirable version with strings. Tony Smith Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 With both Diane Lewis on Wand and Tommy Rodgers both being New York area things, now I'm wondering how it migrated here... Diane Lewis wasn't a NY recording as far as I know, wasn't just leased in?
