Tuesday's are my fave day of the week now..... Banbury Radio has to be the best on air and last nights show with Gospel Bob was again OUTSTANDING !!!

The tunes were, as expected superb even if he continually played with the boys nobs and some were slower than they should have been... he just can't keep still...

The banter from the green room is like a sketch from Monty Python ..... more so when Bob joins in.. he is a little mad you know !!

Thanks Topsy and the gang for another fantastic show oh and of course my prize... a Gospel Bob T. Shirt.... Lenny, am sure we will both fit into that large one...

Oh and poor Mel... get well soon xxxxx

Well what a way to end a fab year on BIR; Nick Turvey had no idea that so many lovely people would turn up last night....in fact he was expecting just me!!!!!

So massive thanks to Tabs, for keeping the guests all together, fed and watered, Charlie, Shirley and Leanna Mac, Eddie Hubbard,Tom B, Richard Mason from Oxford via train & taxi, and the surprise guests and their boxes: Lou Lou, Woody, John Weston, Dave Rimmer and Bish for being unable to resist the lure of the tunes and soul friends....................

It was a smashing night.....god only knows what we played, ate and drank but it was a veritable feast of the senses....hope you all enjoyed it....even the singing!!!!!!!!!!!!

Festive greetings and thank you for supporting BIR so far.....more merriment in 2012

Blimey Mel, I was nervous enough before I read your post, but now I've seen my name on here in big red font......... 3 hours AND following such great other guests over recent months (+ Mr Massey next week I understand?!). No pressure then! :D

Hopefully I'll be cut some slack, as a regular listener of this great stepping stone of a show which breaks each week up so well for a growing number of us. The chat room wasn't up and running the first time I had a go on there last May, so that'll be interesting!

It is as you quote, an Across The Board show, so I'll be bringing a few from each decade.... Will be mostly 60's & 70's (yes, I'll leave most of the soul releases I actually "grew up" with in the 80's/90's on the shelves!) and will try my best not to repeat too much of what other guests have played on there this last few months.

Thanks again for the opportunity to play a few outside the house and see you there.

Cheers, Steve.

A super-sized thanks to Steve Scotney for entertaining everyone on Shades of Soul this week; 150+ miles travelled to reach the destination and it was certainly well worth it!

Tunes from mere pocket money pennies to........lets just say lots, lots more :shhh: ........Steve you played an excellent selection and your service to Shades ofSoul has bumped you to position uno of the 'Northampton's Finest' League - Len & Jem are now banished to joint 2nd place  As Ritchie M would say " You smashed it!"

Plenty of happy customers in the chatroom with a tinge of green-eyed monster over several that you brought along -Eddie I took a photo of said disc!!! :glare: Welcome back anytime Steve, especially as you brought plenty of bribes treats which was noted & gratefully received!!!

Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did; you're alright for a mere pup!!! [NOTE TO TED MASSEY - FOLLOW THAT SET!!!!!! NO PRESSURE :wicked: XX]
